“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. John 14:1-6
The greatest cause of human fear is the worry about tomorrow. As we have entered the New Year 2021, it is an opportunity to reflect on all that the year 2020 has taught us. We have learned so much in the year of humility with its unprecedented challenges; we don’t need any greater sign to tell us to come back to God.
Whatever you may be facing today, you can restart your life today by leaving your next to God. ‘Next’ means one minute from now, one moment from now – your future. Today is yours but tomorrow belongs to God. So, don’t be discouraged if your today looks so bad. Remember no man can tell by the present signs and situation what the future holds for him. Our Lord Jesus Christ was born in a stable; He didn’t stay there. Don’t let your mind stay in failure, don’t let your heart dwell in pain – because when you walk with the Lord, He will walk you through whatever life brings.
In (Luke 24:13-35) on the road to Emmaus, right after the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the resurrected Jesus joined Himself in walking with two of His disciples on that way. These disciples didn’t recognise that it was Jesus walking with them on the way. “That very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and they were talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing Him”, (Luke 24:13-16).
Why the two disciples recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread and not in the teaching and exposition of the scripture on their way to Emmaus might have been designed to be so for our learning. However, the disciples might have got used to how often they had seen Him break bread. Jesus often brought down the wrath of the religious elite upon Himself because of His dietary customs. He ate food with sinners and tax collectors in violation of the sanctimonious taboos of His day. He would refuse to send His followers away until they had been fed. His followers had seen him take a little boy’s lunch of two fishes and five loaves, bless this food, break it, and then distribute it to a throng of people that numbered in thousands. It is easy to recognise Jesus, a generous Friend like no other, a Lover of humanity, the Bread of Life, One ready to abide with us at the slightest invitation. Jesus had taught His disciples that when they fed another who was hungry, it was as though they were doing it to Him. These were among the flood of memories these disciples brought with them to the table at Emmaus. Maybe it is no wonder they recognized Him in action, perhaps their little bread became big enough for all three of them after Jesus blessed it.
To start the New Year 2021 Prophet TB Joshua in his usual characteristic went to a solitary mountain to pray and communing with God at a mountain. The prophet went up the mountain seeking the face of God for divine intervention on the cure for the afflictions currently facing the entire world. Prophet TB Joshua has both compassion and empathy for the general human race. The result of his prayer at the mountain is that he has been mandated to release some messages in addition to releasing some faith materials for the year 2021; the New Anointing Water and the New Anointing sticker, tagged “Not Mine But God’s Own.” Those of us following TB Joshua would be able to recognise him more by his actions, by his laying of hands, generous giving, etc, and not just the excellent teachings the Televangelist gives his global listeners daily. People will keep coming up to Prophet TB Joshua for prayer and to build their faith because the prophet is realistic and practical. While the rich world is investing heavily in vaccines the prophet is praying and investing in faith-building materials.
The question to ask ourselves is whether our actions have ever helped others to recognize Jesus today. Whether we carry the mark of Jesus Christ. Whether we are willing to be clothed with the “Promise of the Father” to witness for Jesus in our chaotic world. James (James 2:15- 16) said: “If a brother or sister is ill-clad and in lack of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go and be filled’, without giving them the things they needed for the body, what does it profit?” If anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? (1 John 3:17). Luke told the story in his gospel “of all that Jesus began to do and teach” (Acts 1:1). In emulating Jesus Christ, or even His prophet TB Joshua, each person must go out and labour for Jesus this New Year, because we are going to be known more by our work in action as the field, is ripe for harvest. Emmanuel!
“And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.” (Acts 13:22)
In our hearts, we are made to be like Jesus. Are you a man or woman after God’s own heart? When you are a man after God’s own heart you will have a ‘hugged’ heart with God; your heart will agree in relationship with God. If your heart agrees in relationship with God, what is seen, what is heard, whatever may happen, will not affect your relationship with Him.
As a Christian, you may not always get it right but always remember that God loves you and values your relationship; you are His temple – where His Holy Spirit dwells.
We are known by our fruits. Only our character can testify to our confession of Christ. To be like Jesus, we must live in Him. To become God’s person, a Christian, born-again, you must be remoulded. It is essential to serve God with a willing heart, for the love of the heart is the only genuine principle from which a genuine relationship with the Lord can spring.
You are a work of art. The Holy Spirit wants to be Lord of your life so that you will no longer be in command of the little vessel in which you sail. Are you ready for Him?
As the protests over police brutality engulfing the nation of Nigeria steadily grow in momentum, a video of TB Joshua prophesying a ‘revolution’ instigated by Nigerian youths has resurfaced on social media.
The video, which was originally aired seven years ago on July 14th 2013, shows Joshua sharing a revelation to the congregation of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), which he titled ‘Carry Your Youths Along’.
“I am seeing a revolution,” the cleric bluntly began, adding that “every revolution starts by protests”.
“I’m seeing people taking to the streets,” he continued, adding that the authorities would attempt unsuccessfully to quash the protests with police.
“You can stop protests but you cannot stop revolution. When it becomes a revolution, everybody is ready to die, so you can’t stop it,” he stated.
“It might be stopped at the beginning. Eventually, it will become so big that it cannot be stopped. This I see happen. Nigeria, pray,” he stated in the clip.
The cleric, however, proffered a solution, calling on the Nigerian government to actively engage its young people, recognising they are the “leaders of tomorrow”.
“God has given us the way out. The way out – job creation for the youth and the creation of a new social value system,” he said.
“No matter the education the youth have, they feel they have no place in politics and there is no job to keep them busy,” he continued, calling for a “new orientation” especially in the political sphere.
“In politics, the youth should be considered for important positions such as assistants to elders. While the elders are ministers, the youth should be junior ministers,” he advised. “By doing this, we are training them to take over tomorrow.”
The prominent cleric further reiterated his ‘shocking’ vision. “Revolution is a weapon of change that is coming. This is the vision I saw – revolution is coming when people will take to the streets because life has no value anymore to the people,” he said, adding that the “coming ominous signs are disastrous”.
Joshua appealed to those in leadership to “carry your youth along” in “politics and administration, especially in ruling your country”, adding that Nigeria’s young people “want to see themselves represented in every area of life.”
“When we carry the youth along, whenever there is a revolt, they will be available to readily speak to their colleagues,” he also noted.
The cleric insisted the revelation was “the voice of God” and “none of this will go without being fulfilled”.
“As sure as God lives, I, TB Joshua, will tell you only what God says. If I am hated, persecuted or intimidated because of my accurate prophetic messages, blessed be to God who gives the prophecy. The day will declare who is in the right and who is in the wrong, says the Lord,” Joshua concluded.
Since the outbreak of #EndSARS protests, Joshua is yet to make a public comment and his official social media handles have not referenced the unrest.
The protests, which have drawn huge crowds throughout Nigeria’s major cities, have morphed from insistence on the abolition of the notorious SARS police unit to impassioned calls for good governance and accountability among Nigeria’s politicians.
The single remedy that cures every case in this world emotionally, physically or spiritually, and which has never been known to fail, is the Lord Jesus Christ. Exodus 1:26 says, “I am the Lord that health thee”. Jesus continues to use His healing power as an effective entry point to helping us to understand His Good News Message of Salvation and freedom from sin power. Even whilst Jeremiah (22:18) was questioning his people saying, “Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?” Jesus has always been the Balm in Gilead and the Healer. Before He ascended into heaven, He spoke to His followers that “they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover” (Mark 16:18). This anointing was so strong on the Apostles that “many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles . . . believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed, (Acts 5:12-16). God’s will is for us to walk in divine healing and health, physically and spiritually. The Ministry of Prophet TB Joshua of the SCOAN Lagos Nigeria represents the Apostolic Ministry of our day, tapping into the promises of God. Jesus is making Healing a component of SCOAN’s teaching and activities across the globe.
Who are the people getting healing from Jesus in the Bible? One of them was a woman having an issue of blood for twelve years, (Luke 8:43-48). The woman had spent all her living upon physicians but couldn’t be healed of any of them. She came behind Jesus and touched the border of His garment. Immediately her issue of blood stanched. At that level, she obtained what we want to described loosely here as physical healing. But Jesus questioned, “Who touched me?” All denied and Jesus said, “Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me”. Eventually, she came trembling and falling before Him, she declared unto Him before all the people for why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. Jesus said unto her, “Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace”. She was brought to the full knowledge of Who Jesus is. Knowing Jesus is the spiritual aspect of healing. If Jesus had allowed her to go back to the crowd she might have run away with the impression that Jesus is also a super physician in town, whereas He is our Saviour, our Healer and by His stripes, we are healed. It is a complete package of emotional, physical and spiritual healing that we get from Jesus and which must be maintained by following Jesus.
Jesus also heals a Man Born Blind as another example of the people receiving this divine grace. “As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth”, (John 9). This healing was done so that the “works of God might be displayed in Him” (verse 4). Also to reveal the person of Jesus, “While I am in the world, I am the light of the world”, (verse 5). The blind man’s faith and obedience must be acknowledged. He had never known or heard of Jesus before, but somehow believed and obeyed Him. The Pharisees investigated the healing only to display their spiritual blindness.
Incidentally, many people coming to SCOAN for healing belong to one or other groups; such as, “I don’t go to church”, “This is my first time in SCOAN”, “I have been to all over the places for healing to no avail”, “My pastor discouraged my coming earlier”, “I have been watching Emmanuel.tv”, etc. The Lord Jesus and His followers ministered healing even to those with little or no understanding of the things of God. Hence healing and all other God’s divine interventions in our circumstances must be that “His mercy brings both miracles and salvation”. This mercy healing is available to everyone. On the other hand, religious leaders are confused thinking of getting to the Healing Ministry by some rigorous academic research, going to a College of Divinity for a PhD degree programme, etc.
We perceive that this generation, like every other before it, consists of different minds when it comes to Who Jesus is, His disciples and the teaching of healing. In particular, the contemporary society is filled at one end with men and women of simplistic minds thinking that all there is are the only things their eyes can see. On the other end are the spiritualists, the rituals, the demons, the cultists where many religious leaders probably belong. Our Lord Jesus Christ heals because He is full of compassion towards mankind and He knows that healing belongs to God’s children. Jesus heals us from all our infirmities to fulfil God’s promises and to glorify His heavenly Father. Furthermore, Jesus heals to confirm His Word, demonstrate the power in His blood and to expose the devil’s defeat and the devil’s failure. Peter explained to Cornelius that “Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil”, (Acts 10:37-38). Jesus knows all our needs even the number of hairs on our heads, (Matthew 10: 29-30), even our infirmities, and weaknesses.
We recall the parable of Lazarus and the unnamed Rich man told by Jesus in (Luke 16:19-31). Lazarus was described as a beggar with sores, looking for what to eat and dogs coming around him to lick his sores, whereas the Rich man was in luxury every day. The time came when Lazarus died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s bosom. The Rich man also died and was buried in Hades, where he was being tormented; he looked up and saw Abraham far away with Lazarus by his side, (verse 24). Lazarus reclined at Abraham’s bosom, a position for the guest of honour at a banquet. We read in the gospels that John had that position next to Jesus, (John 13:23). Those who trusted in God’s Word were promised to be with Abraham in God’s kingdom. This is spiritual healing and our hope.
Hence as we continue to watch and pray with Emmanuel.tv, with Prophet TB Joshua and his SCOAN team, with other Christians, or individually, for healing, for blessing, for a breakthrough, the sole aim should be to encounter Jesus Christ and His awesome power. It is a big privilege and God’s divine mercy to be healed either through prayers, medication, diet or exercise. It becomes spiritual when it leads to the source and the Healer. In this generation, we have been blessed to have a Prophet like TB Joshua who is not just doing miracles but can live by the Word that leads to salvation. TB Joshua’s Ministry is “Healing the Christian World” today, turning it from serving the god of Marmon, the god of raising supermen who can build so many branches and raise so many funds but the people are not edified and made to encounter Jesus. TB Joshua often says that reward is not necessarily the result of faithful prayer. Lazarus must have prayed but his result came to him when least expected in the bosom of Abraham. What Prophet TB Joshua and his Ministry have contributed to how the public should see Christ is in the “Returning to the Apostolic Age” rather than the “Transaction Christianity Approach”. The Transaction Christianity Approach is to claim that because you sow an amount of seed you reap so much because you pay your tithes you are blessed more because you fasted for seven days you are blessed more than when you fasted only three days, you pay so much and you are prayed for that much. TB Joshua and SCOAN have left such schools through the power of Jesus, and now seeing Christ as He is. Of course, we need to pay our tithes and labour for Christ every moment. Nevertheless let us know that by grace we have been saved, through faith and this is not from ourselves. It is the gift of God and not by works so that no one can boast, (Ephesians 2:8-9). Hence be healed physically and spiritually in Jesus mighty name. Distance is not a barrier. Emmanuel!
“Do not be rash with your mouth,
And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God.
For God is in heaven, and you on earth;
Therefore let your words be few.”
When you open your mouth to pray, do you ever stop to think about who you are praying to? The Creator of Heaven and earth. Sadly, today most of our words that we say in prayer only entertain men but do not reach God.
The greatest achievement on earth is to pray as God wants us to pray. But prayer is not saying words; the Spirit of God is the Word on our lips. When Jesus ascended to Heaven, He left us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit to help us to be faithful, obedient to Christ, to help us to pray because He is the Word on our lips. But have we received any comfort from Him?
If we are honest with ourselves, we must admit that much of our conversation, prayer, preaching and teaching is nothing more than empty talk because it is not affected by the Holy Spirit.
Let us ask God for the grace to shut our mouths and open our hearts to the Spirit of God so that when we come before Him in prayer, we will let our words be few.
“I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth… he lives with you and will be in you” (John 14:16).
Many of us still want to be in charge of our own lives. We already know what we want to wear tomorrow, we plan our timetable and iron our clothes for the week but how do we know we will be here tomorrow? We own today but God owns tomorrow. Many believe we can do it all alone without any reference to God but we are His greatest product, created to be under His influence.
The Holy Spirit wants to be Lord of your life and He wants to possess you so that you will no longer be in command of the little vessel in which you sail. On this great voyage of life, you are to be a passenger on the boat or one of the crew but definitely not in charge.
Decide today to give up the command of your vessel. Ask God’s Spirit to take up residence in your heart. When the Holy Spirit is residing in us, we have His kind of freedom (Romans 8:10).
Oh Holy Spirit make a way
Make my heart a place for You to dwell
Jesus was not the kind of person to be led by others. He did not labour to appear truthful; He simply was a man of truth. He said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). And it is the truth of His life and message that has saved us today.
We are living in a world surrounded by lies. No one has to teach us to lie because by nature, man is rebellious. If you tell lies, you are speaking your father’s language for satan is the author of lies (John 8:44).
Truth becomes our protection against the lies of the adversary. But if you do not take time to find out the truth, you shall never come to the knowledge of the truth. The Holy Spirit is true for He is the Spirit of truth. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart to see yourself in the truth of God’s Word. “The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever” (Psalm 119:160).
If you are pretending today, you cannot pretend forever; if you are lying today, you cannot lie forever. The only thing that will last forever is the truth of God’s Word.
If lying goes on for 100 years, truth one day will reach it (Psalm 94:15). So decide today to say no to lies and be on the winning side. As truth was older than terror, so it will survive it. It got the start and it will get the race.
We all cry sometimes but as the tears roll down your cheeks, have you ever stopped to ask yourself what gave birth to your crying? Is your cry born of self-pity or victimhood because you are looking for attention and lamenting over your present situation? Or is your cry born of faith because you want to receive from Jesus Christ?
In Matthew 15:22-28, the Canaanite woman cried out to Jesus for her daughter’s deliverance. In verse 26 Jesus replied “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs.”
This response was capable of discouraging any other woman in her position from pressing on with her request. She was not only ignored; she was also equated with a dog. But because she truly believed that Jesus was capable of meeting her needs, she knew that this seeming harsh treatment would soon pass away. She simply pressed on, saying, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Jesus saw this as a cry born of faith.
What are you crying about? The Lord may be taking His time to consider your request in order to test your faith just like the Canaanite woman. If your cry is born of faith because you want to receive of Jesus then you would respond with humility, modesty and perseverance. So be calm and determined and make sure your cry is a cry born of faith.
There was a feast of the Jews and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, (please read John chapter 5). The Pool of Bethesda was in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate (John 5:2), surrounded by five covered colonnades. The Sheep Gate was doubtless the gate through which the sheep travelled on their way to be sacrificed in the temple. During Jesus’ time, the Pool of Bethesda lay outside Jerusalem city walls. The name of the pool, “Bethesda,” is Aramaic. It means “House of Mercy”, “House of Grace”, or “House of Love”, and it is also a place where “a great number of disabled people used to lay; the blind, the lame, the paralyzed” (John 5:3). The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos Nigeria is called by many as “Arena of Liberty”, also having this same dual meaning, being regarded by some as a place where the infirm, the sick, the invalids, come seeking from Jesus. SCOAN is also a place of Grace where many receive healing, deliverance, the new life and freedom.
In the case of Bethesda legend had it that an angel would come down into the pool and “stir up the water.” According to the legend, the first person into the pool after the stirring of the water “was made well from whatever disease with which he or she was afflicted” (John 5:4). The Bible does not teach that this actually happened; rather, the superstitious belief probably arose because of the pool’s association with the nearby temple.
On the day that Jesus visited this public pool of Bethesda, there was a man there, possibly amongst scores of others, and he “had been an invalid for thirty-eight years” (John 5:5). Jesus interacted with him twice, before his physical healing at the public pool and afterwards in the temple. Jesus asked the man “Do you want to be healed?” Jesus knew that not every sick person would want to be healed, and that some could be so discouraged that they put away all hope. Jesus was dealing with a man who might have his heart withered as well as his legs. Hence Jesus started by building up the faith of this man. The man replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred, (verse 7). He was probably saying to himself, “if only I was able enough, fast enough, strong enough, have someone else to help me then I could have been healed”. Or he was basically saying, “Yes, I want to be made well, but I don’t see how this can happen”. The paralytic was in need of saving but there beside him was the Saviour of all mankind. When Jesus spoke to him, he heard the word of a mere man whilst he kept gazing at Bethesda for superstitious healing, expecting healing by work and not by faith or by grace.
Jesus swept aside all superstition and bypassed altogether the need for magic water with one command: “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk” (verse 8). The man was instantly cured, and “he picked up his mat and walked” (verse 9). The sick man limited God’s help to his own ideas and did not dare promise himself more than he conceived in his mind. We create a small God in our heads, a God who is limited by whatever box we try to put Him into, a God we limit by what we have heard, out thoughts, or what we read in the newspapers.
Amazingly, not everyone was happy about the man’s miraculous healing. The day Jesus healed the man at the poolside happened to be a Sabbath. As the man left Bethesda, the Jewish leaders saw him only carrying his mat and didn’t see him walking and healed. They stopped him. “It is the Sabbath,” they said. “The law forbids you to carry your mat” (verse 10). The man told them that he was simply obeying orders. The man who made me well said to me, “Pick up your mat and walk” (verse 11). The Jews inquired who would so brazenly promote Law-breaking, but the man who was healed had no idea who He was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd, (verse 13). The contrary men of the world see only criticism and not the healing, or the changed life, or the restored sanity. The reaction of the Jewish leaders shows that, no matter how much proof God provides, there will be some people who refuse to see the truth. Jesus was an awesome Miracle Worker, but the religious leaders couldn’t see the miracle. All they could see was that someone had violated a rule. The issue was not the breaking of God’s command, for Jesus fulfilled all the Law and was completely subject to it (Matthew 5:17). The only thing being broken was a pharisaical interpretation of one of God’s laws. Therefore, a blessing meant to increase faith only increased the blindness of those who refused to acknowledge the blessing.
Jesus knew that the man who was physically healed still needed some spiritual healing. In fact, the religious leaders would have created more confusion, doubts and more unbelief in him. Just like in our days sponsored oppositions keep discouraging many not to visit SCOAN and be healed or to come and know more about Jesus. Hence Jesus traced him to the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you” (verse 14). Jesus’ words are a rebuke of unnamed sin. The man was probably living contrary to God’s will somehow and he received a warning of “something worse.” What could be worse than thirty-eight years of paralysis? May be an eternity in hell (see Mark 9:47). Thus Jesus healed him both physically and spiritually.
The Bible listed a few of the people fortunate to have this same direct encounter with the Lord Jesus for our benefit. Jesus healed people and told them, “Your faith has made you well”. He healed 10 lepers (Luke 1:11-19), the woman with the issue of blood (Matthew 9:20-22), a blind man (Mark10: 46-52). In this particular case, it was at Jesus’ compassion. Other cases of people who encountered Jesus include the twelve apostles, Nicodemus (John 3), the woman at Jacob’s well in the town of Samaria called Sychar (John 4), Mary and Martha (John 11), the Apostle Paul on his way to Damascus, and many others. An encounter with Jesus would often not be exactly what we expect but it will bring out our true needs, revealing who we truly are, get to the true heart of the issues and sending us out to the field to tell others all about Jesus. Jesus will be known for Whom He truly is, The Son of God, The Messiah of the world, the Prophet of the world, the Spring of Living Water. This is how SCOAN is changing lives and changing nations by leading people to have an encounter with Jesus so that we are both physically and spiritually healed. Emmanuel
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize” (1 Corinthians 9:24)
Do you know what you need to run life’s race? It is not fast legs, it is not intelligence, it is not good connections or shortcuts.
In this world, fast runners do not always win the race. The brave, the strong do not always win the battle. The wise do not always earn a living and intelligent people do not always rise to high positions.
As believers, our life is a race. Jesus knew the troubles in this world would rob His followers of peace and tempt them to give up – that is why He said in Luke 22:32, “I have prayed for you that your faith will not fail.”
If you have faith in God, then joy is a fruit of that faith – true joy is something only believers have! “You will show me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy” (Psalm 16:1)
There is one thing that will get us through this journey, that will strengthen us to finish the race, that will equip us to fight this battle – and that is joy. That is God’s promise for you – to give you joy for the journey.
The word of the LORD came unto Elijah, the Tishbite from Gilead, that he should go and hide by the brook Cherith, (please read 1 Kings 17). God instructed Elijah this way to protect the prophet from the wrath of King Ahab. God also told him that he would drink of the brook and that ravens had been commanded to feed him there. Prophet Elijah went and did according to the word of the LORD. There at the brook, the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening and he drank of the brook. After a while, the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land according to the word of the prophet before King Ahab. Elijah had said unto King Ahab, “As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word”.
Then the word of the LORD came unto Elijah again to go to Zarephath a region of Sidon. Sidon was an ancient and wealthy city of Phoenicia, on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, about twenty English miles to the north of Tyre in Lebanon and some fifty equal miles from Nazareth. This time God had provided a widow there to sustain Prophet Elijah with water and food. This was the woman we will refer to as “the Widow of Zarephath”. Elijah obeyed; he arose and went to Zarephath. When he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow was there gathering sticks. Elijah called to her, and said, “Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink”. As she was going to fetch it, Elijah called to her, and said, “Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thy hand”.
At this point, the woman confessed her circumstance and limitations saying, “As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die”. She wasn’t a wealthy widow but her first miracle had just begun when Elijah said unto her, “Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me and after make for thee and thy son. For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth”. She went and did according to the saying of Elijah. Then this widow, her house, and Prophet Elijah were sustained for many days because “the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah”. This encounter signalled the beginning of many more miracles to come her way, revealing the Almighty God’s awesome power and love for everyone who would obey Him.
A tragic event happened to this widow over time, “that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him”. Her son died. She said unto Elijah, “What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? Art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?”
This widow recognized that sin would kill families sin would kill communities. She might not have known that we could turn away at any time from our sin and that Jesus would die to give us freedom. Now we know that God always provides us with a way to escape. Prophet Elijah said unto her, “Give me thy son”. Elijah took her son, carried him up into a loft where he abode, and laid him upon his bed, and cried unto the LORD. Elijah said, “O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?” Elijah stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, “O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again”. The Sovereign and Mighty LORD heard the voice of Elijah and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived. Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother. Elijah said, “See, thy son liveth”. The joyful widow also said to Elijah, “Now by this, I know that thou art a man of God and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is Truth”.
Some Bible commentaries suggested that the woman’s use of sarcasm was designed to shame the prophet as being the cause of her son’s death. Wrongly too, many go to SCOAN with problems but praying in the mind, “If he is a man of God he should locate me”, or telling Jesus on the cross “If You are the Son of God, jump down”. Nevertheless, Elijah did not try and rationalise with the grieving woman but took the son up and prayed to God asking for His help. The Lord heard the voice of Elijah and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived. Elijah, therefore, regained his honour and his status. Other commentators related that the son raised by Elijah was none other than the Prophet Jonah, most notably associated with the incident involving a giant fish. Similarly, the one raised by Elisha became Prophet Habakkuk.
Prophet Elijah walked with God in obedience and he didn’t let the different or the difficult circumstances he was passing through affect his faith or his relationship with God. Prophet Elijah had a mark of God visible to a widow from a distant land which she saw and confessed with her mouth. Beyond the sustained food that prophetically came her way, after her son was revived she said, “Now by this, I know that thou art a man of God and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is Truth”. Jesus told His disciples in (Mark 16:17-18) that “These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”. By this, the men of the world would know that we have the mark of Christ, even by the outcomes of our prayers, by our unconditional love and compassion. The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch, (Acts 11:26) because the people saw Jesus Christ in the spoken words of His disciples, in their deeds and acts. The disciples taught and did exactly like their Master Jesus. The widow of Zarephath was similarly able to recognize Prophet Elijah because of the excellent spirit of God living in him.
Jesus referred to the story in (Luke 4:23-28) when His native people wouldn’t believe Him. Jesus said unto them, “Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country”. Jesus also said, “Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country. But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias (Elijah), when the heaven was shut up three years and six months when great famine was throughout all the land; But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow”.
There are a lot of similarities between Prophets Elijah and TB Joshua on one hand, and also between this widow and Prophet TB Joshua in another level. The widow opened her door for the man of God just as Prophet TB Joshua of SCOAN keeps opening his door receiving and sustaining many people under his roof. In another way today many Nigerians are filled with wrath, envy, jealousy, doubt, unbelief about the works of Prophet TB Joshua, the Bishop of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, in Lagos Nigeria because he is one of them in Nigeria. Elijah has remained a major Bible Prophet and we assure the public that after Prophet TB Joshua has completed his mission and is gone, Nigerians will know that TB Joshua has been a major Prophet of God and SCOAN will become a Christian Pilgrim Centre for Nigeria, where all nations will be coming to worship and to receive healing. Nevertheless, Prophet TB Joshua shall accomplish the task he is ordained and appointed by God to do because Jesus said He will be with His disciples to the very end.
The general message is that whether it be a TB Joshua of SCOAN, or any other persons professing to be men or women of God, Gamaliel’s counsel in Acts chapter 5 seems most appropriate for cases where any group is in any doubt. Gamaliel, a Pharisees and a doctor of the law, who had a good reputation among his people said, “Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel, or this work, be of men, it will come to nought. But if it is of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God”. We advise that it is better to be found praying for the entire Church of Christ and all classes of God’s Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, this end-time, rather than wrongly fighting against God thinking that you are fighting for God. The anti-Christ might have been around but carnal minds wouldn’t recognize him or her. We should be vigilant and watchful. In any case, how could a Zarephath widow have accepted Elijah into her house and fed the Prophet but King Ahab of Israel, or Queen Jezebel the wife of King Ahab, would not believe? How could God have chosen a poor widow from a distant land to sustain His anointed servants and billionaires in the land would not even be recorded in history books at the end of life? Unless an individual has a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world, the end may be very sad indeed. Emmanuel
In (2 Corinthians 5:7) Apostle Paul encouraged the Corinthians that “We walk by FAITH, not by SIGHT.” The desire and plan of God for each of us is “how to disciple us to learn how to live by faith, not by sight”. God wants us to learn how to live in a loving relationship with Him, to recognize His voice and commune with Him, to discover His will for our lives, to make right decisions to follow His direction and to live out His perfect plan demonstrated to us in His only Son, Jesus Christ. Hence walking by faith is simply being where God is and doing what God is doing. It is necessary to learn how to walk by faith, not by sight, because, “whatever is not of faith is sin,” (Rom. 14:23), and also because, ”without faith, it is impossible to please God,” (Heb. 11:6).
The public may not understand fully what God is doing, especially in the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Lagos Nigeria. The carnal man is walking by sight alone, or the natural man is being controlled by sight, and not by faith. Even to receive from God through the Ministries of SCOAN, or from the Bishop of SCOAN, Prophet TB Joshua, individual needs to come and exercising faith in Jesus Christ and His Word. Therefore walking by faith, (and not by sight alone) with Jesus in this pilgrim way is a continuous process for every degree of Christians. Walking by sight means to depend on human sufficiency, human wisdom, human ingenuity, human calculation, and so on. Whereas walking by faith means depending on Christ’s sufficiency, Christ’s wisdom, His power, His direction, and His enablement. ”It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man”, (Psalms 118:8).
The people walking with God by faith are on the Lord’s side. For example, in the wilderness the people of Israel departed God to worship a golden calf they fashioned for themselves whilst Moses was on the Mount. After reproving with that guilty nation, Moses called out, “Who is on the Lord’s side?” When we walk away from God we become God’s adversary and no longer on the Lord’s side. In this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic SCOAN has been reaching out to every corner of the globe offering prayers and healing to people in their homes or kept in isolation centres. The same hand of fellowship is still being stretched out by SCOAN to every people in isolation centres including to Nigeria, Prophet TB Joshua’s homeland. But it’s only a few people walking in the spirit by faith that would see that the Right hand of God is Power and that it can save, it delivers and it can heal. It seems that Nigeria is not only infected by a multitude of religious sects it is also infected by divisions within sects, between sects, and with people walking only by sight. Many believe more on what they can see, touch, whatever they read, and many think of God as One to be on their side. Rather it is that the name of the Lord is a strong Protective Tower and the righteous runs there for salvation. Take the step now and run to God’s side for protection, healing and deliverance.
Fortunately for Nigeria, and according to the official figures from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Nigeria Covid-19 update as at 2 September 2020 indicates a total of 54439 confirmed infection cases, 42439 recovered cases and 1027 deaths. This gives a death rate of those with outcomes to be 2.4%, and net active cases 10973. From the position of science, this is an encouraging update with no major course for further alarm, the curve is turning. Hence the public will have the false impression not to be in a hurry calling out people in isolation centres, (almost empty centres), to any prayer line. But from the spirit, and even if there is no single active case in the land, Jesus is saying after our healing “to go and sin no more”. He is also encouraging us that if COVID-19 hasn’t condemned us to death Jesus hasn’t either. It is not Jesus that condemns but our sins, our selfish desires, our weaknesses and our inability to walk by faith with God.
With the advent of COVID-19 pandemic, many Christian sects are predicting that the end of the world is at hand. Of course, Christian prophecies about the coronavirus, about locust swarms, about a socioeconomic pandemic, or the consequent era of humility are worthy of attention. Prophet TB Joshua, the Bishop of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, (SCOAN), Lagos Nigeria, has spent considerable time drawing the attention of the world to what God has been showing to him. The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has infected more than 25 million people globally since it emerged and has been branded a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). Several conspiracy theorists and some Christian groups have responded by flooding social media in recent months with their versions of warnings of the world’s fiery demise. Hence both Christians and world scientists believe that they have a say on world affairs, especially as relates to the end-time plagues. Nevertheless, there is still no convergence of opinions so far but that the coronavirus shouldn’t be viewed as the end-time plague. The giant swarms of locusts which are also devastating, extremely unusual storms, earthquake and volcanic activity are both on the rise, and other very dangerous diseases that are sweeping across the globe are referred to as other signs that are confounding human knowledge.
The situation which Prophet Habakkuk faced in his time was the imminent invasion of the Southern Kingdom of Judah by the Babylonians, also known as the Chaldeans. This invasion eventually happened and Jerusalem fell to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. The Lord revealed to Habakkuk beforehand that Judah was going to be punished for her sin by the Chaldeans. Unlike prophets Joel, Zephaniah or Amos, Habakkuk did not even mention the possibility that destruction could be averted by repentance. He did not call for national repentance. It was too late. Instead, he predicted the destruction of Judah, and beyond that the doom of the Chaldeans themselves. Prophet Habakkuk promised that the only way to preserve our life through the judgment was by faith. Hence, even though destruction is decreed for all the nations of the world now, there is hope for individuals who hold fast their confidence in God. The full-blown doctrine of justification by faith, taught by Apostle Paul in Romans and Galatians, is the seed here and for our instruction. The just (righteous, faithful, true and obedient follower of Jesus) shall live by faith. There is hope for those who will hold firm their trust in God as the calamity comes, COVID-19 or otherwise.
Prophet TB Joshua’s measuring instrument of the just, the righteous, the true obedient servant of Jesus is in his or her degree of “letting go any offence, then constant meditation on the Word, and praying without ceasing”. The world is truly passing through a big storm and uncharted terrain but there is hope for those who will hold firm to their unshaken faith in Christ Jesus. We have two messages from Prophet Habakkuk. The first message is that proud person, people whose strength or ingenuity is their god (Habakkuk 1:11, 16, 2: 4, 19), will come to a woeful end, even though they may enjoy prosperity for a season either as God’s chosen ones in Judah or as the victors over Judah. All the proud, whether they are Jew or Gentile, men or women, they will perish in the unending ongoing judgment of God. The second message of Prophet Habakkuk is that the just shall live by his faith as a principle (Habakkuk 2:4). Finally, the prophet celebrates it as his song in (Habakkuk 3:16–19). Prophet Habakkuk says, “Even when all the fruit and produce and flocks and herds are destroyed and my very life is threatened, yet will I rejoice in God.” Hence banking our hope on God no matter what and all shall be well. Emmanuel
Are you someone who watches things happen, someone who wondered what happened or someone who makes things happen?
We have a goal to reach that needs all our energy. But unfortunately today we spend so much time, effort and energy fighting the wrong battle, chasing shadows, lamenting on past failures and nursing our wounds that offence has caused us.
How do you make things happen? It takes focused action, personal discipline and plenty of energy every day to make things happen. Remember, winning begins inside you. When you make it happen on the inside, in your relationship with God, that success will be transferred to the outside.
When you take care of the depth of your relationship with God, God will take care of the breadth of your success. To pray as God wants us to pray is the greatest achievement on earth – because you hear God and He hears you. Such a life of prayer costs; it needs sacrifice. How much time do you spend getting your heart in tune for prayer? How much time do you spend praying in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, making melodies in your heart to God?
PRAYER: Help us to use our time right, oh Holy Spirit!
Nigerian Pastor TB Joshua has released a documentary on YouTube detailing the ‘persecution’ he endured during his visit to Nazareth, Israel last year followed by a national award presented to him by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism in the aftermath of the event.
In June 2019, Joshua held a two-day event in the historic hometown of Jesus Christ, which attracted thousands of religious tourists from across the globe.
However, the event held at the Amphitheatre of Mount Precipice was fiercely criticised by local religious figures and nearly faced cancellation due to the intensity of attacks.
“This man is only promoting lies, and anyone who follows this liar is unjust. That is why we ban our people from attending,” a representative for the Christian Church and Pastoral Council in Nazareth stated in the lead-up to the event.
“This visit that is going to be held by this antichrist and wizard – we, the Islamic movement – completely reject it,” noted Osama Haha, the head of Islamic Movement in Nazareth.
“Jesus warned us there would be false prophets coming. We do not know where this man is coming from or the purpose behind everything he does,” stated Father Seaan Bajali, a Roman Orthodox Priest.
“Boycotting the sorcerer Zionist is a national and religious duty,” the Executive Committee of the Orthodox Forum said in a statement.
A protest was even organized with hundreds trouncing through the city in Northern Israel with placards decrying the coming event and people shouting: “Let this witch get away from us!”
Despite the ‘noise’ surrounding the event, it was held successfully with Joshua preaching a message on love and ministering “healing and deliverance in Jesus’ name” to the large crowds that gathered.
“Love for fellow man breaks down all barriers. It melts all hindrances. It dissolves prejudice, misunderstanding and suspicion,” he preached in a sermon whilst a local mosque blared out via a loud speaker, “Do not participate with this wizard.”
A group of religious figures even visited the venue of Mount Precipice after the event and performed a ‘cleansing ritual’ with water, leaves and salt.
However, interviews with local figures after the event revealed a markedly different impression, with residents celebrating the economic and social impact of Joshua’s visit to the region and calling for him to return for future events.
“This is the first time in 2,000 years we have heard the name of Jesus proclaimed publicly in Nazareth,” stated a tearful Nazarene Christian.
The event, which was broadcast on local television throughout Israel and featured in The New York Times and Reuters, subsequently attracted the attention of Israel’s Ministry of Tourism, which gave an award to the Nigerian cleric and made him a ‘Tourism Ambassador’.
“TB Joshua, on the occasion of your visit to Israel, I am honoured to recognise you as a true friend of Israel. Thank you for your support and solidarity, which are deeply appreciated. It is my pleasure to name you as a ‘Tourism Goodwill Ambassador For Israel’,” wrote Yariv Levin, the Minister of Tourism.
“You only need to hear ‘Go!’ from above. Who are you to say no? When God says yes, no one can say no! The noise of north and south, the noise of east and west does not matter. It only promotes,” Joshua explained in an interview accompanying the documentary.
Joshua is the first ‘Evangelical Pastor’ to have held a public Christian event in Nazareth; the only other religious figure to have had such an event was Pope Benedict XVI in 2009.
Reacting to the documentary, followers of Joshua were quick to salute his courage, opining that such degree of attacks would easily discourage those of lesser faith.
“It depends on who sent you,” the prominent cleric concluded. “Above all powers; above all kings. What can man do? Can man stop God? No. Capital NO!”
Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms, (Ephesians 6:12). It is a continuous battle for every Christian, day and night, but the battle is rather with the perception of our circumstance and the material world. The circumstance shouldn’t be the focus, COVID-19 isn’t the focus. Apostle Paul says we need to be strong beyond ourselves. We’ll need God’s strength for the conflict. It means that as Christians we are soldiers at war just like a regular soldier in the battlefield.

In that daily encounter we find Proverbs 3:5-6 saying, “Trust in the LORD with all thy heart; and lean not unto thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”. The divine intervention is needed against the unseen enemy described as a roaring lion seeking who it may devour. But again Paul in Romans (8:38-39) tells us that “. . . neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
Case after case of events Jesus, the King of kings, demonstrated His authority over disease, nature, demons, sin, over space and time, and authority over death. Jesus did everything to ensure our salvation and freedom from principalities and power according to Colossians (2:13-17). Whereas we’d been dead in sins and uncircumcised flesh, but Jesus has quickened us together with Himself. He has forgiven all our trespasses by taking them out of the way, nailing them to His cross. Jesus destroyed the principalities and powers, triumphing over them and He sets us free from tradition and culture.
This is where Prophet TB Joshua and his team in the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Lagos Nigeria, becomes relevant. Their mission is to evangelize the world on Jesus’ teaching and His Word, making everyone to have the right perception irrespective of circumstances. They teach that some seemingly unfriendly circumstances may be to draw people nearer to God. Therefore a circumstance like COVID-19 pandemic shouldn’t constitute the real enemy but our perception. This, for example, the brethren in SCOAN are demonstrating to the entire world in multiple ways using “Distance not a Barrier to the Move of God” and praying for people. We recall that in (Matthew 8) a centurion came to Jesus on behalf of his paralyzed servant. The emphasis in that story is on the power of the Word of the Lord that goes to any distance with equal power, that by Jesus’ command the sick were healed. Another lesson is the faith of the centurion, a gentile. In particular, communities that can place their trust and faith in Jesus Christ’s healing power like this centurion (Matthew 8:8) should link its entire people in their isolation centres, in a corporate faith, to SCOAN for Jesus’ healing. Jesus heals effectually and permanently. A vaccine, medicine, food, exercise can be used to treat but its God that heals ultimately.
The word of Naaman’s maid in 2 Kings Chapter 5 is very relevant here. The young Israelite taking forcefully to serve as a maid in Syria knew her God and said to her mistress, “. . . Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! For he would recover him of his leprosy” (v.3). The maid’s perceived incarceration didn’t deter her from recommending the God of Israel to her captors and masters. Just as when Joshua stood before the angel of the Lord in a filthy garment, (Zechariah 3:3), the young maid knew that her master was in a filthy garment of leprosy. It means Naaman was covered in iniquity that needed to be changed. We all wear a spiritual garment which is not visible and can either be clean or unclean. The garment speaks or describes a lot about who we are in the spirit realm. When our spiritual garment is filthy, it means our spirit in the spiritual realm is polluted or defiled due to sin. Also, the enemy can put a filthy garment upon one’s life to destroy the spiritual and the person, preventing the spiritual ability to achieve or fulfil preordained destiny. Covid-19 is currently the global filthy garment the devil is distributing around. Nobody needs to accept this COVID-19 garment nor wear it.
By the special grace of God in Jesus Christ, our generation also has a prophet in SCOAN, Lagos Nigeria, not only to help us deal with our infirmities or help to remove filthy garments but also to help us see God the right way. The Holy Spirit of God shall give the enlightenment and nations shall perceive by the spirit the needed divine guidance. The apostles of Jesus of old knew Jesus and the Holy Ghost. They knew they hadn’t silver nor gold (Acts 3:6) but what they had would make a 40 years old lame man walking and leaping. Those apostles were baptised and filled with the Holy Ghost. Similar prophet TB Joshua knows Jesus and he is filled with the Holy Ghost. Communities and nations approaching the SCOAN should have faith that they will meet Jesus. We stand as the maid who recommended Naaman to Prophet Elisha and Naaman was healed from wearing a filthy garment of leprosy. The battle is essentially our perception in the natural and inability to see and believe the mighty name of Jesus Christ that heals. Jesus is the Saviour and Redeemer of the whole world. He is still healing, delivering, and replacing any filthy garments with heavenly attires if we come to Him. Emmanuel
The team of prophets, evangelists, singers and even the congregation in the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Lagos Nigeria, under the leadership of Prophet TB Joshua can be classified generally as a wonderful group of people filled with the Holy Spirit. This is globally one of the best congregations of our time. However, the entire SCOAN team has a unique mission of “Waging a Continually Fight Against Satan”. Whilst most of us don’t like to fight with the devil or avoiding any confrontation with him, probably because of it’s a supernatural and demonic being, SCOAN people do. Unfortunately, Satan is an evil intruder and he comes like a roaring lion looking for you. He does not fight fairly, and he does not wait for an invitation. Prophet TB Joshua says Satan doesn’t hesitate to attack hence we should waste no time in casting all our everyday cares on God the Supreme Being. Even at this COVID-19 pandemic, with lockdown in congregational worship and gathering, SCOAN is unrelenting fighting Satan back whether Satan is close by or at a great distance. They coin it as “Distance is not a barrier for the move of God”. It is an awesome programme to be part of and to follow. Thanks to the Holy Spirit, some technology that assists them and the dedication of the team in SCOAN. As far as the congregation in SCOAN is concerned COVID-19 is a defeated foe and Satan knows it.

On our part, we need to emulate SCOAN and stand up on our two feet and fight Satan back for every battle. The Bible is the perfect tool for recognizing and fighting the demonic attacks, generational curses, and strongholds that come against us. Be it COVID-19, an economic pandemic that will set in as a result of lockdown, job losses, deaths of loved ones, or even because of our weaknesses. It is necessary to recognize Satan’s fingerprints all over the places in our lives. Satan always tries to undermine our relationship with God. But James 4:7 says “…Resist the devil and he will flee from you”. How do we resist such a supernatural roaring lion? Ephesians 6:11-18 is very good to read. It says, “Put on the whole armour of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles (and the cunnings, tricks, intrigues, etcetera) of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. . .”
Every moment, especially in this perilous time, it is necessary to protect ourselves, our friends, and our family from the devil’s attack and overcome Satan with the power of the Holy Spirit. We should by no means give way to him, by indulging any sin or yielding to any temptation, but oppose him, and stand against his wiles, his cunning and his power. We must have unshakable Faith and Trust in God and His Word. What difficulties will not our firm belief in God’s wisdom, power, and goodness get us over? Then be humble under His hand. Casting all your care; personal cares, family cares, cares for the present, and cares for the future, for yourselves, for others, for the church, on God. Only faith can give that steadfastness – faith in Christ, the one Foundation, the Rock on which the Christian’s house is built. We shall not take Satan’s guff anymore. It is in our power to stand up and fight back, in Jesus’ mighty name. Emmanuel
Did you know that no matter how you feel right now, someone wants to be where you are, someone wants to have what you have and someone wants to be like you? You were created to be a vessel for God to use but God cannot use a discouraged servant.
Worry interferes with God’s Spirit in our lives. Despite the temptation to feel discouraged, we must overcome this as Christians. By saying about ourselves what the Bible says about us, we are made overcomers. What does the Bible say about you?
Are you sick? The Bible says in Isaiah 53:5 that by His wounds you are healed.
Are you weak? The Bible says in Psalm 27:1 that your God is the strength of your life.
Are you experiencing failure? The Bible says in Romans 8:37 that you are more than a conqueror through Christ. Are you trapped? The Bible says in John 8:36 that the Son has set you free. Are you facing lack? The Bible says in Philippians 4:19 that your God shall supply all your needs.
Words of confession of God’s Word indeed work wonders! When the Word of God prevails in your life, people will see it in your dominion, in the way you talk, in the way you walk. Are you ready to win today? Say to yourself, “I AM AN OVERCOMER!”

One of the cardinal ministries of Prophet TB Joshua, the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and turning any man from being a hater of God into one who loves and obeys God. The things of God are foolishness to the natural man. Turning everyone into a new man who delights in God’s ways, who daily enjoy living and walking with God becomes a ministry. According to the Apostle Paul, there is only one answer to be able to do that. It is the “effectual working” of the power of God. “Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power”, (Ephesians 3:7).
The life of Apostle Paul himself was a testimony of this power of God. Had he been left to himself he would still have been the persecuting and blaspheming Pharisee. Saul turned Apostle Paul, must have heard about the preaching of Christ, the preaching of Stephen and he knew all that Christians claimed. But he hated the good news. He saw nothing in it except blasphemy and to persecute the way of Christ. It’s no surprise today that persecution comes to anyone that tries to preach Christ genuinely. But what eventually happened to this man Saul of Tarsus? Again there is only one answer. He had been made a new man when he met Jesus. He had been regenerated, born again, became a new creation. This was the result of the effectual working of the power of God that we covet for all God’s missions today.
Without the effectual working of the power of God in any ministry no one can make anyone a Christian. A Christian means one who has had a rebirth, a regeneration. It is not the result of our decision only, it is not something that you and I decide to do. It is the effectual working of His power. Paul would never have been a Christian at all were it not for this power. But even after becoming a Christian, he would have been ineffective apart from this same power.
It is this same working power of God that is transforming people and Nations and preached in SCOAN. Prophet TB Joshua has been called into the ministry and given the gifts of the spirit that are requisite to the ministry. This is why he has an understanding of the truth, the power to speak, the power to teach and the power to do miracles. It is the promise of God that, “… you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”, (Acts 1:8).
Hence every Christian must work together in one unit under this power of God, especially here in the SCOAN. Praying in one accord, waiting on the promise of God’s power to be released on the Church for more exploits becomes our mission. Prophet TB Joshua teaches that we let Jesus Christ form Himself in us. In other words, submitting self absolutely to the Holy Spirit and being led by revelation daily.
Prophet TB Joshua has lived, served, loved and struggled for the church for his entire life. Therefore the challenges facing the Church of Christ in the 21st century should be dear to him to take on a responsibility of guarding the flock and caring for the Church of God (Acts 20:28), the more. The Church has drifted far from the Bible. In fact, Bible illiteracy is a major challenge whereby many people pay lip service to the importance of the Bible. People may not read it, know it or believe it. Others using it to teach may doubt its power. Instead, they live on phrases like “heaven helps those who help themselves”, and on many carnal phrases not found in the Bible. Another challenge is that Christians are disconnected from one another, preferring to run as individual, denominations, and as sects. Whereas Christians ought to be people of presence, connected to God and to one another through the inhabiting, unifying power of the Holy Spirit. The church must position itself as presenters of God’s presence in the world by raising a new generation of Church leaders based on the Word of God and the Spirit of God.
Unfortunately, capitalism has fully infiltrated the Church as another challenge to the extent that “church shopping” and “what I got from the sermon” are things we say without thinking anything of it. People go to Sunday services to “get something.” They choose churches that “fit them” and match their checklist of preferences and their circumstances. Churches are homogeneous, consisting respectively people of like minds. But churches must challenge rather than cater to this mentality. The church is a place where heterogeneous members of a body come together for purposes beyond themselves. It’s an invitation to join Christ in what He is already doing in the world, not an invitation for Christ to affirm our self-actualization. Of course, SCOAN is a peculiar Church whereby many are encouraged to come for special services. Nonetheless improved and healed Christians must return and be more effective in their respective homes and in their local churches as a testimony of their encounter with Jesus. Every challenge facing the Church of Christ is an opportunity for higher anointing in Christ Jesus. Emmanuel.

The colossal dam that’s being constructed by the Ethiopians has continued to generate tension between them and their Egyptian and Sudanese neighbours. Which many fear could lead to war.
The leadership of Ethiopia says that the dam will offer a critical opportunity to pull millions of her nearly 110 million citizens out of poverty. The project is said to be the centrepiece of Ethiopia’s bid to become Africa’s biggest power exporter.
The dam will be filled from waters from the Blue Nile, but the Egyptians have expressed their concern over the dam’s construction and the filling of the dam with the water from the Nile, arguing that it will reduce its legitimate share of Nile river water access and threaten its water security.
Sudan on their part stands to benefit from the project through access to cheap electricity and reduced flooding, but it has also raised fears over the dam’s operation.
The US President Donald Trump had invited Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia to start negotiations in Washington over the $4.6bn Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), following years of unsuccessful negotiations between the three countries. Unfortunately, they still could not come to a common ground.
Egypt has warned Ethiopia not to start filling the GERD under any circumstances, but the latest information coming out is that Ethiopia has started filling the dam. This move by Ethiopia comes as the latest round of talks between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia on the contentious dam ended with no agreement.
As the Prophet will say“Let us look beyond our palace for God’s authority. With God, all things are possible!”
Since the world government and their institutions cannot handle this issue, it is time for all parties involved to seek the help of God through the instrumentality of the Prophet T.B Joshua for a lasting solution.
TB Joshua has proven himself time without numbers through his intervention on several conflicts in the African continent and the world.
As of recent, the world was a witness to how God uses the Prophet to intervene as an instrument of peace in the nation of South Sudan.
It is time to invite the Prophet of God in the peace negotiation through the African Union (AU) and the United Nations (UN) concerning the Blue Nile conflicts.
Voice of wisdom to the Egyptians, Sudanese and the Ethiopians.
Don’t fall for the evil agenda from the outsiders to cause you to fight amongst yourself. Be wise!
This battle is all about African pride and prosperity. And I don’t think anyone of you is against the prosperity of the other.
War will not benefit anyone. Don’t make yourself to be used by the outsiders to divide the continent and put you all against each other. Learn from your History!
Laying down your ego for the sake of peace is not diminishing. Restraint in the face of provocation only shows your level of maturity.
This is a simple issue that can be handled by God.
Africa is a Mother of peace and prosperity. Not crisis and poverty. Come together as brothers, learn to compromise and see how you can be a solution and of help to each other. Let Love Lead!
In one of his many teachings, repeatedly broadcast on Emmanuel.tv, Prophet TB Joshua said, “What we do privately in secret would determine what we could achieve in the name of Jesus in the open”. This statement has a profound impression on many viewers, especially those wondering why their own, “Be Healed in the Name of Jesus”, has not produced the expected effect. What we do privately and secretly could hold the key to whether or not we can invoke the mighty name of Jesus Christ in our favour. What’s done in darkness will come to light as success or failure. Instead of flying from one planet to another we may keep crawling and struggling from a single point to another. The common testimony remains, “I am trying to follow Jesus but I am failing. I believe, help my unbelief.”
The unfolding events around us and in many churches all over the world reveal this reality and why there is unbelief, envy, chaos and feebleness in the Church today. We see our history, our past blunders and mistakes, unforgiving spirits, inability to let go the past, occultism and idolatry, common willful sins, all littering the different hearts and consequently in the ministries meant to proclaim Jesus. This truth and operational principle declare and forces all secret things to eventually come to light. The question is not if things will come to the light but when or how? Unfortunately, our weaknesses are coming up to hunt us due to the inability to claim our divine rights in Christ Jesus. In Genesis 4, God says to Cain, “Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.” Even Abel’s blood is shouting out this principle for us to understand that a Cain may no longer enjoy fellowship nor power with God.
If the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) must change people, nations and the entire world it has to change the common perception of every class of people in the Church. The symbol of our success must remain “Wearing the Garment of Holiness and be in the fullness of the Holy Spirit”. If for a positive result we must ask “According to His will” we may also ask first that, “What is His will?” That there is power in our mouth, the belief in our heart, released through our mouth by faith? This authority and power, in the name of Jesus, go hand in hand through meditation in His Word. The World must key into the recent prophetic word from Prophet TB Joshua that the “Ministry of Distance is not a Barrier” can be an “International Zoom Crusade for Healing, Deliverance and to Promoting Jesus Christ”.
The carnal world is expecting a scientific code, a sign, or healing and deliverance that would not need it to go through the name of Jesus or faith in Him. The world wants to do without Jesus. Although for us Jesus is our Product, our own Jesus is not for sale in SCOAN. Whilst there is no biblical code that can be invoked in exchange to our faith and holy living in Christ Jesus, the Bible, emphasized by our prophet, teaches on what is more essential to our successful walk with Jesus. The Lord Jesus and His Word must be at the centre of our living because if the Lord doesn’t build the house our work would be in vain. There is also a necessity to be diligent in our work because lazy people always want things but they never get them. Yet everyone has been given talents equal to their abilities and destined functions. If anyone refuses to use given talents such talents may be lost. The prophet has taught extensively too that we should always be willing to give freely in love to gain more; Casting our bread upon the waters to find it in multiples after many days. Those who refuse to give will end up having less and piling up unheard and unanswered prayers. In (1 Kings 3:1) we read, “…He (King Solomon) was wiser than all men…” This wisdom he exercised in many ways beside leadership. King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom, (2 Chronicles 9:22). World leaders must learn from the Wisdom of Solomon and come to Jesus, so that daily informed decisions can be taken.
Being in a state of mere physical darkness is probably not what the prophet is referring to. Many Christians create a state of physical darkness during prayer or meditation by closing the eyes so that other senses of the body could be made to work better. The physical sight can be deceiving, tempting us to believe only what we can see with the eyes. Right now the entire world is only seeing the global statistics of COVID-19 and its fearful forecasts. Whereas the spiritual eyes have unlimited meditation power and undistracted by what the environment dictates; the prophet might have seen many days ahead of COVID-19. The visual sense blinds other senses of the body making us believe in only what is visible, but when we blind it our faith should grow and we have improved concentration. Similarly our secret and private life, if spent on meditation on the Word and not what our circumstance suggests, would produce enough faith upon which the power of God can be released rather than a result of some academic exercise. The Lord Jesus is always true to His word when He said that “We would receive whatever we ask for in His name”.
Therefore, despite the prevailing global carnality, diversity in faith, a form of International Crusade by Zoom should be supported as we pray along with Prophet TB Joshua and his team. With prophets the standing of TB Joshua Revelation 1:7, “Behold, He (Jesus) is coming with the clouds, and every eye shall see Him”, becomes so near and a reality. Jesus described what people will be doing at such a time: “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day the Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Emmanuel
On this occasion, Jesus crossed the Lake of Galilee, and as usual, a great crowd followed him because they had seen signs which He gave in His dealings with the sick. But Jesus went up the hillside and sat down there with His disciples. The Passover, the Jewish festival, was near. So Jesus, raising His eyes and seeing a great crowd on the way towards Him, said to Philip, “Where can we buy food for these people to eat?” Jesus said this to test Philip, for He knew what he was going to do, (John 6:6)
It is soul healing when we realise that Jesus knows everything about us and knows what He will do. But He may choose to test us as He did to Philip. It was expected that Philip would have acknowledged the Sovereignty and Supremacy of the Master over all He created by saying for example, “Sir you know all things, Lord. What shall we do?” Instead, Philip answered him in terms of economic and natural estimates, “It would take nearly a year’s wages to buy enough food for them, even if each one gets only a little.” Fortunately, there was another disciple around, Andrew the brother of Simon Peter. Andrew with some faith said, “A boy here has five loaves of bread and two small fish. But what can that little bit of food do for so many people?” That little faith was enough for Jesus our Lord and Saviour to be brought into the scene, as Prophet TB Joshua always says. Jesus said, “Tell the people to sit down.” The rest is a miracle as the heavens were open and bread and fishes flowed to the hungry and wearied souls. The multitude was feed with great leftovers.
The Bible testifies that Jesus is the eternal God who became a man to sacrifice His life for the sins of the whole world. He was always aware of this and was not expecting Philip to rain bread to feed the multitude but to have some faith in this eternal God. There was never a time Jesus doubted His calling nor was He ever overwhelmed by all the attention He received and allowed Himself to be taken for someone He was not. The prophets that He has called, anointed and using, have some of his divine attributes by His generous grace. They shouldn’t be bothered by worldly pursuits, earthly desires, nor feel overwhelmed by millions of people seeking help from them. Only that it is necessary to remain connected with the One who knows the way through the wilderness of life. The Bible makes it clear that Jesus was always confident of who He was and why He had come to earth. From our first glimpse of Him, until the end of His life, we find Jesus confident of His person and message. Those who trust Jesus should never doubt His ability nor put limits unto what is possible. Instead, we should know that “With God all things are possible, and what is not possible for man is possible for our God”. God can use His servants for our help.
Hence as the entire world is swimming in the wilderness of life, from fear and panic unto economic lockdown and eventually total humility that will leave no stone unturned, it is not too late to come to Jesus for our supplies. In this COVID-19 era, the God who knows what He will do is reshaping the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) to minister to the world in a new way and we must support their effort, in prayers and different kinds. They have newly come up with “Distance is not a barrier” when the Church is in lockdown. People across the globe can benefit from this but by faith.
Everyone should come to seek Jesus like Zacchaeus, a tax collector who lived in the city Jericho at the time of Jesus. He learned that Jesus the prophet was passing through the city and he ran ahead of the crowd and climbed up into a sycamore tree to have a better view of Jesus. It is not enough to secretly install Emmanuel.tv inside your bedroom to watch or to use to attack SCOAN. There is so much to learn about Zacchaeus beyond the fact that he was a short guy who hung out in trees just to see Jesus. Even what’s coming out from the World Health Organisation (WHO) about SCOAN is Zacchaeus and Pharisaical in my own opinion. It is necessary to truly and openly acknowledge Jesus and the fact that “Jesus knows what He will do in the World He has created”. God has the final say. Organisations and nations like the UN, WHO, USA, UK, China, Russia, even Nigeria, and all others must listen to what God has to say. God is Supreme, Omnipotent, Omniscience and Omnipresence. Emmanuel
It is impossible to live without challenges. How do these challenges relate to our Christian life? That you have challenges doesn’t mean that you are not a Christian! Challenges determine where you are spiritually. They reveal the true condition or position of man’s heart. A true Christian is tested by his ability to face difficult circumstances. As a child of God, your situation is not to impair you but to make you stronger. Your response when you are tested, provoked and tried determines your future.
Hebrews 5:1-8 – Though Jesus was a Son of God, He learned obedience by the things He suffered. He went through agony, anguish and physical pain but He submitted to the revealing Word of God. This means, spiritual growth is a function of obedience to the will of God.
Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered. We learn obedience by the difficulties and challenges we face today. Challenges are tests to mature us so your response to the challenge of today determines what you will become tomorrow.
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose” (Philippians 2:13)
God never created failure. God never created pain.
God never created fear.
Are you ready to be the person God created you to be? At times, our fear, our worries, our troubles seem to paralyse us but Jesus is more than able to release us from them all. Jesus is ready to pick you up and put you back on your feet. He is ready because He wants you to be the person He created you to be. Are you ready?
It is when we throw up our hands to the Lord that His hands have room to work. Ask yourself, “Do God’s hands have room to work in my life?” Remember, Christianity is not a religion but a relationship. How much time do you spend getting your heart in tune for prayer? How much time do you spend meditating on God’s Word? If you want your personality to be taken over by Jesus, if you want to be the person God created you to be, be conscious of Christ’s presence in everything you do because in Him we live, move and have our being.
Prophet TB Joshua of the Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), is a remarkable man. I think that every one of us who have met him on any occasion is always inspired and challenged by his life. He carries grace, humility, simplicity and love. He was born in Arigidi Akoko, a remote part of the present Ondo State of Nigeria at a time that part of the country was in the Western Region Nigeria. He was to be known, not because he has rich and famous parents, or because of some academic achievement in science, but because of what he has been able to single-handedly achieve in human restoration and reformation through faith in Christ. The average life expectancy in Nigeria (before COVID-19 set in to further reduce it) is between 53 and 54 years. Hence TB Joshua at 58 has lived above the average age of people of his country, despite his arduous missionary work confronted by opposition from multiple directions, visible and invisible. It has only been possible by God’s grace protecting him; Congratulations for a Happy Birthday with all our Best Wishes to you and your lovely family.
At age 58 God might still not have answered all the prayers of Prophet TB Joshua in the way that he might have hoped but we know that God has used him to reach people in many communities, prisons, orphanages, hospitals and many nations. He had laid hands or hugged thousands of people across the globe in the process of ministration, praying and setting them free from the grip and shackles of Satan. God overlooked any limitations of our prophet and invested him with the ability to uplift hearts and encourage people’s spirits. They got up from wheelchairs, threw away walking sticks, the blind seeing, deaf hearing, all saying “Thank You, Jesus, Thank You, Jesus”.
It has been the grace of God upholding the man of God whilst the entire society remains only carnal, saying things they ought not. Unfortunately, there exists amongst the various sects envying, strife, divisions, and many so-called men of God but living and walking as natural men. While some groups say they are of Paul, others say they are of Apollos. But neither is he that plants nor he that waters anything, but God that gives the increase, (1 Corinthians 3:3-7). Prophet TB Joshua has been teaching on Church unity rather than campaigning against others. Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh and the weapons of our warfare carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Do you look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so, are we Christ’s. (2 Corinthians 10:3-7). It is the mighty grace of God that is protecting every true man of God.
The people of God depend on the grace of God. Mother Teresa wrote, “I don’t think there is anyone who needs God’s help and grace as much as I do. Sometimes I feel so helpless and weak. I think that is why God uses me. Because I cannot depend on my strength, I rely on Him twenty-four hours a day. If the day had even more hours, then I would need His help and grace during those as well.” Similarly, Apostle Paul expressed this dependence when he wrote about the thorn in his flesh. Three times he pleaded with the Lord to take it away. But God said to him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”,(2 Corinthians 12:9). His grace is not only amazing, it is “sufficient”. It is enough. Prophet TB Joshua also said that “we need God to sit, to stand, to take each step, etc”. Our prayer is Psalms 90:12, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”.
Happy 58th Birthday to Prophet TB Joshua, the man at the Synagogue, Church of All Nations. Emmanuel.

If you don’t get your job back or you don’t get a proper job or a full-time job or you run into loss or lose a loved one after this lockdown, don’t despair; don’t doubt your Guard. God is about to establish you. Ask any successful man or woman and they will tell you about how much disappointment and setback they had to endure to come to a new level in life.
For many, it was a sack letter, an accusation, a petition against them and they lost their job – but today they are established. I want to believe the similar signs I am seeing now will happen to many while others may lose loved ones or run into loss.
I can see beyond many of our situations at hand. That is why I am telling you that behind that situation lies your future. After the lockdown, whatever disappointment you will receive or whatever happens – think deeply and you will see the reason why this is happening to you. Remember, many successful people today once had the same experience and they were moved to a higher level in life thereby.
Ordinarily, you would not want to leave your position or status and say you want to establish yourself without a situation like this. Something must happen – and that seems to be happening now. Sometimes God allows situations like this – I mean disappointment or something more serious – so that you can take your proper position and possessions. Sometimes it is to enable you to get to where you belong. I know where I belong!
What is your dark moment? It may be to make you see clearly where you belong, I mean to prepare you for your future. I know where I belong! It is time to know where you belong; that is why all this is happening now.
Don’t forget everything big starts little. If something big starts big, it calls for concern. Starting little with a sincere heart is evidence that you will grow. Everything genuine likes to start little. You have to be ready to start little, cut your coat according to your cloth and endure temporary pain. You know what I mean – the type of life you live must be in accordance with little. It may cause you to withdraw from the city to a rural life or to do away with some of your properties. You will have them back at the right time but let them go now for preparation to grow. Many things you have now may not be necessary for the journey, may not be relevant to the situation that is coming. Let them go and believe this word you are hearing. It is a word from God.
Ask your family members to cut their coat according to their cloth. If any of them was living big before, they have to prepare to adjust now to the situation that is coming. Check your store and bring out the things you may need to sell. Right now, you need to be living modestly.
Women that married men because of affluence or men that married women because of affluence – divorce should not be the order of the day. We just need to adjust. You may likely need some new friends because not all of your friends will be able to cope and adjust. The future is still there but only calls for adjustment.
Many things we are seeing now will go and many new things will come. If you know you got anything by injustice, such will not be able to stand. Whatever you might have received by injustice will go. It is only our genuine sweat that will see us through while nature is ready to take its course. God just started this judgment somewhere. It will soon get to me; it will soon get to you. Let us be ready.
All that I am saying does not mean you are down but this is just what has come in our own time. Every age has its own challenges. People of yesterday had their own challenges in a different way. Others have gone through so-called challenges in their own way. Today, those who adjust will be able to overcome and those who are unable to adjust will go by the level of their challenges – down, fall, death.
Something must happen every 100 years to affect the whole world. This is what has happened in our own lifetime. It has been like that for generations. Those who respond to the demands of the age will end up as overcomers, victors, winners. However, those who fail to respond to the demands appropriately will eventually go down with the times, either by disappointment, failure, death. It is unchangeable; it must happen. The nature of the challenge may be different. Irrespective of how it happened, the nation that caused it, the person that caused it – it had to happen; something just had to cause it.
By the ending of June to the first week of July, this will begin to become a point of reference: “This man said this; that man said it” – but it is God that said it.
In the Old Testament, we read that Prophet Jeremiah was called to prophetic ministry by God. He was called to give a prophecy of Jerusalem’s destruction that would occur by invaders from the north. This was because Israel had been unfaithful to the laws of the covenant and had forsaken God by worshipping false gods. Jeremiah condemned people burning their children as offerings to idols. In his prophecies, Jeremiah was guided by God to proclaim that the nation of Judah would be faced with famine, plundered and taken captive by foreigners who would exile them to a foreign land, etc. Like today, Jeremiah’s ministry prompted plots against him. Whilst Jeremiah was prophesying the coming destruction, several other prophets were prophesying peace. His prophecies came to fulfilment but the prophet suffered great persecutions.
For over 12 years prophet TB Joshua of Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has been warning about the entire world coming economic downturn to the extent that individuals may be richer than a whole nation. The fulfilment of that prophecy may have just started. We don’t know the proportion of the population that have listened to him, or that had listened and are taking appropriate steps to protect themselves and asset. What we do know is that what the prophet has been saying repeatedly has come to reality. The global coronavirus pandemic is the vehicle conveying the herald of the coming “economic pandemic”. There are a few lessons to learn but we first need to appreciate God for giving us a prophet at this time that can speak correctly to individuals, to groups of people, to nations or the entire world. I have always found Prophet TB Joshua a man that has separated himself from frivolous activities that are just self-entertaining but devoting himself to total service to God and humanity.
At this stage a few points must be made about this Coronavirus, also tagged COVID-19, that has covered the entire globe, has ruined economies, shutdown Church cathedrals living only empty pews, killing across races and ages. Prophet TB Joshua has said a lot on this COVID-19 and has been praying. The virus has moved to the community transmission level whereby it can get to everyone easily. It has defied any medication, only trials and errors treatment, and so on. It would take a long while getting a vaccine and hence the public should be ready to accommodate this virus for a while.
The second point to know is the coincidence with the prophecy of “A Year of Humility”, also prophesied by Prophet TB Joshua. The prophecy we recall came with conditions that are, “Turning to God in Repentance”. If the world had heeded the prophet and repented maybe by March 27, 2020, the rains would have washed the virus away. Everyone can listen to the prophecy over and again. It was conditional on our needed “changed attitude to the Living God”. Hence for the prophecy of humility to take its effect on a journey from Egypt to the Promised Land meant for about only 40 days may take 40 years, unless this generation is ready for God.
Our prayer points are many. We want God to keep talking to us and we don’t want our cathedrals filled with only empty pews. This generation can best be described as “Eye-service-Generation”, nearly everyone in it. Most of the popular pastors and church leaders are busy giving motivational speeches and entertaining the crowds like the days of Jeremiah. The humility regime, prophesied by TB Joshua, is going to start in the Church and amongst the Christians, in a long process. The world is already on its platform, un-repented, whilst the church is in disarray and disunity. Hence we pray for the move of the Holy Spirit for God’s quick intervention in the affairs of men.
