A RIGHTFUL FOCUS

Tb Joshua Ministries,The SCOAN Emmanuel TV

In this world of distraction, it is very easy to get off track and lose focus. We live by sight when we give all our attention to the physical, which is temporary but as believers, we live by faith when we recognise our union with Jesus Christ in the Spirit. What is it that controls your life? Those who are controlled by divine-revelation truth are the people that examine all things in the light of God’s Word. Do you examine your situation in the light of God’s Word? What are you experiencing?

Stop focusing on your situation. Our focus as Christians should be only on what God has to say about our situation, not what our natural circumstances or the socio-economic and political situation in our country have to say. In all situations we should ask the Lord to open the eyes of our faith to see His protecting hand and to open our hearts to His faith, Word and Spirit so that we may understand what His will about our situation is. When you have a rightful focus, every time you act on the Word, something enters your spirit that increases your assurance. Assurance means you can boldly say, ‘I am what God says I am’. So, keep your focus! Identify your Source! (Hebrews 12:2)

AN OVERCOMER!

Tb Joshua Ministries,The SCOAN

Did you know that no matter how you feel right now, someone wants to be where you are, someone wants to have what you have and someone wants to be like you? You were created to be a vessel for God to use but God cannot use a discouraged servant.

Worry interferes with God’s Spirit in our lives. Despite the temptation to feel discouraged, we must overcome this as Christians. By saying about ourselves what the Bible says about us, we are made overcomers. What does the Bible say about you?

Are you sick? The Bible says in Isaiah 53:5 that by His wounds you are healed.

Are you weak? The Bible says in Psalm 27:1 that your God is the strength of your life.

Are you experiencing failure? The Bible says in Romans 8:37 that you are more than a conqueror through Christ.
Are you trapped? The Bible says in John 8:36 that the Son has set you free.
Are you facing lack? The Bible says in Philippians 4:19 that your God shall supply all your needs.

Words of confession of God’s Word indeed work wonders! When the Word of God prevails in your life, people will see it in your dominion, in the way you talk, in the way you walk. Are you ready to win today? Say to yourself, “I AM AN OVERCOMER!”

DON’T TAKE A STEP BACK

Tb Joshua Ministries,The SCOAN

Do you ever feel as if you are not getting anywhere – whenever you move forward, you find yourself going backwards again? This is because you keep taking steps back when you face obstacles, hindrances and problems, instead of allowing them to move you forward. Timothy experienced the same temptation but Apostle Paul warned him not to take a step back when he was sick, attacked, persecuted or discouraged.

“Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.” (1 Timothy 18-19)

You take a step back when in the face of your situation, you get discouraged and start complaining, ‘Why me?’ Whereas this is the beauty of our journey to eternal life – our challenges. Apostle Paul himself knew what it was like to feel like giving up while facing challenges but he kept on running the straight race with God.

What situation are you facing that is causing you to take a step back? Don’t forget, your challenges are friends to move you forward if they produce a sense of dependence on God.

SCOAN Leading the Campaign of Hope for a Troubled World

God desires that every human being lives as God commands to receive His gift of salvation to become a part of His family and Kingdom. This vision is and should be, the World Order for all God’s children, according to (1 John 2:1-11). In the world we live in today, we have two groups of people living together, namely, the children of obedience and the children of disobedience. Apostle John was clear in his mind when he said and encouraged us to sin not. He also says that if any man sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous and the propitiation for the sins of the whole world. If we obey Him we shall be healed because we’d have internal life.

Anyone who believes and keeps this commandment, of faith in the atoning power in the name of Jesus Christ and walk daily in it, is a child of Light, the obedient God’s child. All others, no matter how morally good, are children of darkness and the disobedient children. The Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, is motivated by this and has set for itself, through its obedience to the Word of God, the task of making sure that everyone understands this message of Jesus, to obey it, and to daily walk in it.

Jesus has said that we shouldn’t worry and fret over our physical needs and challenges but to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). This, then, should be the priority of every Christian; to pursue God’s Kingdom through living as He commands. This pursuit leads to a life of great meaning and purpose, free from fear, filled with personal enrichment, one with absolute faith in a future that is wonderful beyond anything we can imagine. As we enter into the period of humility, prophesied by Prophet TB Joshua, the whole world we presently know is filled with chaos and trouble, different levels of inequalities and discriminations, causing panic, anxieties, pains, or sleepless nights. But children of obedience ought to know the Rock on which they stand, the Anchor holding their sailing ship that is being tossed about by unrelenting storming winds.

The World governments in its wisdom and desperation, following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, for example, shut down national and global economies, locked down states, communities, and including Churches. The consequences of such a panicking action, not driven by vision, is the creation of bigger problems for the entire world than caused by COVID-19. The campaign from SCOAN, led by its Bishop, Prophet TB Joshua, is the “Fear Not” approach but trusting and holding on to God. Because God is still on the throne and expecting Presidents and Heads of governments to listen and obey instructions from above sent through His holy prophets. If in future individuals or nations relate amongst themselves mostly by internet connections, staff working from home, large Church congregations are denied, the expected friendly brotherly interactions and economic recovery may not receive a good outcome. It is true according to SCOAN that distance is not a barrier for the move of God but we cannot push aside the effect of intimate interpersonal interactions, bilateral relationships between nations, national and international crusades, the meeting together of thousands of people praying in one accord.

God gives His prophets the wisdom of the prudent to understand His way. But there is a way which seems right unto a man (of science), but the end thereof may be the ways of many deaths (Proverbs 14: 8-12).

Therefore, and although we are praying for nations and individuals in various homes and congregations, there is still a need to better engage God’s prophets for God intervention in public affairs like COVID-19, growing world unrest and insecurity, the need for a more scientific breakthrough, combating feminine and displaced populations, etc. It is not cowardice or laziness doing so but the actual recognition of the sovereign God who promised to be with us every step of the way, even to the end of the age. Failing to recognize the supremacy and the unique position of the King of kings in public life can only lead to more sins and more painful consequences. God desires to indeed bless the world He creates, enlarge every coast, and remove every pain and evil from further circulation. Emmanuel.

CHALLENGES ARE TESTS TO MATURE US!

It is impossible to live without challenges. How do these challenges relate to our Christian life? That you have challenges doesn’t mean that you are not a Christian! Challenges determine where you are spiritually. They reveal the true condition or position of man’s heart. A true Christian is tested by his ability to face difficult circumstances. As a child of God, your situation is not to impair you but to make you stronger. Your response when you are tested, provoked and tried determines your future.

Hebrews 5:1-8 – Though Jesus was a Son of God, He learned obedience by the things He suffered. He went through agony, anguish and physical pain but He submitted to the revealing Word of God. This means, spiritual growth is a function of obedience to the will of God.

Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered. We learn obedience by the difficulties and challenges we face today. Challenges are tests to mature us so your response to the challenge of today determines what you will become tomorrow.

THE PERSON GOD CREATED YOU TO BE

“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose” (Philippians 2:13)

God never created failure. God never created pain.
God never created fear.

Are you ready to be the person God created you to be? At times, our fear, our worries, our troubles seem to paralyse us but Jesus is more than able to release us from them all. Jesus is ready to pick you up and put you back on your feet. He is ready because He wants you to be the person He created you to be. Are you ready?

It is when we throw up our hands to the Lord that His hands have room to work. Ask yourself, “Do God’s hands have room to work in my life?” Remember, Christianity is not a religion but a relationship. How much time do you spend getting your heart in tune for prayer? How much time do you spend meditating on God’s Word? If you want your personality to be taken over by Jesus, if you want to be the person God created you to be, be conscious of Christ’s presence in everything you do because in Him we live, move and have our being.

THE UNSEEN HAND!!!

God sometimes uses foolish things to confound the wise. For example, an unpleasant situation can serve to keep us for a new level in life. If Joseph had not been in the prison, he would not have met the link that saw him to the throne (Genesis 41:9-39). To the wise, imprisonment is a foolish thing but God used it to accomplish His purpose in the life of Joseph in particular, and the nation of Israel in general. If Hannah had had a baby earlier, she may not have had any reason to stay close to God. The Bible says, she was a woman of prayer (1 Samuel 1:1-17). If the circumstances surrounding the birth of Moses were normal, he may not have had a cause to go to Egypt where he finally became a blessing to his nation, Israel. He would have stayed and grown up with his biological parents and that would have changed the course of history (Exodus 2:1-10).

If Daniel had not been thrown into the lion’s den, he would not have had the opportunity to prove his God; his God would not have been known (Daniel 6:25-27). If Meshach, Shadrach and Abed-Nego had not encountered the great trial in the blazing furnace, their God would not have been a state God (Daniel 3:28-29). If Peter had had the desired catch of fish at the seaside, he may not have encountered Jesus – the Redeemer. His disappointment at the seaside served to move him to a higher level in life – ‘A fisher of men’ (Luke 5:1-11).

What the eye could not see in all these examples was the unseen hand, the divine driver of our fortunes. There is God’s appointed time for everything under the sun – a time to be happy, a time to be sad, a time to grow and a time to die (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). Take note, there is an unseen hand, an unseen plan of God in the affairs of men. When something happens, whether positive or negative, it would be too soon to despair, complain or jubilate without finding out what God says about it because there is an unseen hand in everything that happens under the sun.

ACTING ON WHAT GOD HAS SPOKEN!

The problem of believing is made simple when we know that it is acting on what God has spoken. The wise man is the doer of the Word. The other hears but does not act upon it. He is a sense knowledge hearer; he is a mental assenter. He responds to reason instead of the Word. If he has faith in anything, it is in man, what man has done, science, works and organisation. We may know the Word. We may be familiar with the original Greek or Hebrew. We may know the history of the Word but that is all wasted energy if we do not live the Word and practise it. If we do not live the Word and practise it, we cannot bring Jesus on the scene.

Prayer is a reality. We are not talking into the air. Here, the name Jesus is always honoured. What a grave danger of deluding ourselves. What a danger if there is no corresponding action! If we say in the name of Jesus without corresponding action, it oftentimes leads to destruction. It is the doer of the Word, the man who practises it, lives it, walks in it, that builds it into his own life. It is the doer of the Word that receives things from God. Idle words may entertain men but they do not reach God.

Ephesians 3:20 – “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Note the word, “do” in this text. We are doers of the Word, but you say, “How can I do it?” It is going to be according to the ability of God that is at work within us. As we begin to do the Word, He begins to do in us and through us (1 John 4:4).

LOOK DEEP ENOUGH!

Faith is not a feeling. Feelings are influenced by what we see, hear, read and by what our circumstances look like. Thomas would not believe unless he could see; he would not believe unless he could touch where Jesus was nailed and cut by His side (John 20:25). He relied on what he could see and touch, not on what God had to say.

We have many Thomas-Christians today, that is, those who believe in only what they can feel, see, hear or touch. If we base our judgment on what we see only, it means we have not looked deep enough. If we base our judgment on what is seen only, we are bound to give wrong judgment. In the same way, when we are looking for a man of faith, or a genuine believer, we are tempted to look only at those outward qualities, such as:

Speaking skills – ability to inspire people, ability to carry people along, ability to motivate an audience.

Friendliness – the power to win people’s hearts.

No mention would be made of character or inner being because man’s judgment is limited. Such was the case of Thomas and those Christians in his camp today. But Jesus said to Thomas, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:29). This statement was made not to Christians by faith but to Christians by feelings.

We cannot understand God by feelings. We can only understand Him by what the Word says about Him. Thomas was so much overwhelmed by his feelings that he neglected what the Scripture had said about Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. God is everything the Word says He is so we need to get familiar with Him through the Word. Too many people try to get acquainted with God through their feelings. When they feel good, they think God has heard their prayers. When they don’t feel particularly good – I mean, when they feel God is unkind or unfair to them, they begin to rebel or murmur against God. They feel that God no longer answers their prayer; their faith is thus based on feelings.

Question & Answer With TB Joshua On Face Masks

scoan, Tb Joshua, emmauel tv

QUESTION: My elderly mum and dad have started wearing their face masks permanently because of fear of contracting COVID-19 and only removing them when they want to eat because they need to use their mouth to eat. I am concerned this can be dangerous. How can I advise them?

ANSWER: Following global health guidelines during this period of COVID-19, the government is insisting on the use of face masks in public places – along with social distancing and handwashing. Face masks can be a very good thing but they can also be dangerous when they are not used properly or when they are not made with the proper material.

The government has asked you to wear face masks when you are in public places, in the midst of people, on the streets, in vehicles when you are not alone. The government is doing this to help you. They are not asking you to wear it 24 hours a day. There should be a time at home when you remove it. But some people are wearing their face masks for long periods of time. Breathing the same air in and out or not getting enough air while breathing – all of this can affect your health, cause headaches, fatigue and worsen existing health challenges.

So let us be careful of the amount of time we wear the face mask and also of the kind of material our face masks are made out of. For many, the chemicals used to make such material can be dangerous to inhale. NOTE: The face mask is your personal mask. It should be clean and made of proper material. This requires your discretion, viewers.

Right now, let us pray. Whatever is affecting your discretion – reason well, in the name of Jesus Christ! Reason according to God’s direction, in the name of Jesus Christ! Reason in line with God, in Jesus’ name! Viewers, sometimes hardship can influence our reasoning. Sometimes joblessness can influence our reasoning. Sometimes fear can influence our reasoning. Sometimes pressure can influence our reasoning. Right now, begin to reason well, in the name of Jesus! Begin to reason in line with God, in the name of Jesus! Begin to do the right thing, in Jesus’ name! Do the right thing, in Jesus’ name! In Jesus’ name we pray!

We would like to use this time to salute our governor of Lagos State, Governor Sanwo-Olu. Indeed, he’s one of a kind. If you look at his activity at this critical time, it can be compared to the New York governor who is always on the national news to update the general public and to educate them. Our governor wants to see his people and he wants to see them living well. We pray God will increase his capacity to do more, in Jesus’ name!

Our Shelter is in the Name of the Lord

Regular worshipers at the Synagogue, Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Lagos, Nigeria have come to the understanding that they have “A Sanctuary” that is their “Arena of Liberty”. We hope and pray to return to normal worship therein soonest. That is a place where people find refuge, protection, healing, deliverance and justice. They make confessions and they are immune from arrest. Whether the depth of their freedom is completely clear to those making this claim is one thing, but once they arrive SCOAN they often understand that they experience freedom from evil spiritual attacks. They enjoy peace of mind and a great level of security from fear or anxiety.

This may be why several people across the globe, watching Emmanuel.tv, ask Prophet TB Joshua if a Christian can even be sick let alone be attacked by a coronavirus. Remember in Matthew 4:6 Satan asked Jesus to throw Himself down to prove that He is the Son of God. At the crucifixion, the robber on the left (representing the spirit of Satan) similarly asked Jesus to prove Himself as the Son of God by saving Himself and two robbers. When Christians think like this they must be careful not to assume that they have arrived in heaven where there’d be no sickness. Instead, we should come to Jesus like the penitent thief on the “Right”, recognising Jesus, pleading for Jesus’ mercy and seeking refuge. A Christian can’t be self-righteous because we are all saved by grace. In Proverbs 18:10 we read that “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it and is safe.” Hence, at SCOAN’s Arena of Liberty, the strength of the building and its walls are not the measuring parameters of level security but the name of the Lord Jesus and His presence therein.

Prophet TB Joshua’s teachings and conducts are excellently profoundly accurate, even when they look simple. It is delusion and false teaching that if you follow Jesus everything will be trouble-free and without care, without sickness. Jesus is our rock and fortress in desperate times. SCOAN is resting on the word of Jesus which says, “Come all who are weary and heavy-laden and I (Jesus) will give you rest”. All who seek Jesus’ shelter, and cling to His to everlasting promises of truth and unconditional love that never runs dry, find safety and peace.

This isn’t to underestimate the immeasurable protection we enjoy under the name of Jesus anywhere we are. For example, Taipei 101 is considered one of the safest and strongest buildings in this modern era. The tower is designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes. It is a cultural icon of technology in Taiwan. But even with all of these features, it pales in comparison to the strength and security that’s found in the one who abides in the Lord Jesus and His precepts. When the trials of life come like a tidal wave to consume us we can take refuge in Jesus. His strength is made perfect in our moment of weakness. He does not cause the sickness or the storms but He can use them to shape our resolve in His ability to provide whatever is needed to overcome them. Jesus is our Saviour and our Lord in all our situations, a very present help in our troubled times. Emmanuel!!!

Spirit Economy: TB Joshua Answer Question on US – China Relationship

QUESTION – I was watching international news and saw US President Donald Trump threaten to cut off ties with China. Prophet TB Joshua, what would happen if America truly cuts ties with China?

ANSWER: “America’s concentration is on big things while China concentrates on small things, e.g. manufacturing and agricultural goods – what developing nations need. Remember, 70-80% of the world are developing nations. What they need to grow, to live and to improve is what China is concentrating on. I think America should learn this lesson. This is what they should turn to.

China is using all these little things to get money from developing nations – and that is making them the richest in the world. It is trade by barter. It has made developing nations to see China as their hope. For example, a product in America may cost 500 and last long, because it is durable. The same product in China may cost 100 but not last long. However, developing nations will still choose China’s products because such products are within their reach. That makes many nations to become debtors to China – even America.”

God’s Intervention in the Affairs of Men

scoan, tb Joshua

In the Old Testament, we read that Prophet Jeremiah was called to prophetic ministry by God. He was called to give a prophecy of Jerusalem’s destruction that would occur by invaders from the north. This was because Israel had been unfaithful to the laws of the covenant and had forsaken God by worshipping false gods. Jeremiah condemned people burning their children as offerings to idols. In his prophecies, Jeremiah was guided by God to proclaim that the nation of Judah would be faced with famine, plundered and taken captive by foreigners who would exile them to a foreign land, etc. Like today, Jeremiah’s ministry prompted plots against him. Whilst Jeremiah was prophesying the coming destruction, several other prophets were prophesying peace. His prophecies came to fulfilment but the prophet suffered great persecutions.

For over 12 years prophet TB Joshua of Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has been warning about the entire world coming economic downturn to the extent that individuals may be richer than a whole nation. The fulfilment of that prophecy may have just started. We don’t know the proportion of the population that have listened to him, or that had listened and are taking appropriate steps to protect themselves and asset. What we do know is that what the prophet has been saying repeatedly has come to reality. The global coronavirus pandemic is the vehicle conveying the herald of the coming “economic pandemic”. There are a few lessons to learn but we first need to appreciate God for giving us a prophet at this time that can speak correctly to individuals, to groups of people, to nations or the entire world. I have always found Prophet TB Joshua a man that has separated himself from frivolous activities that are just self-entertaining but devoting himself to total service to God and humanity.

At this stage a few points must be made about this Coronavirus, also tagged COVID-19, that has covered the entire globe, has ruined economies, shutdown Church cathedrals living only empty pews, killing across races and ages. Prophet TB Joshua has said a lot on this COVID-19 and has been praying. The virus has moved to the community transmission level whereby it can get to everyone easily. It has defied any medication, only trials and errors treatment, and so on. It would take a long while getting a vaccine and hence the public should be ready to accommodate this virus for a while.

The second point to know is the coincidence with the prophecy of “A Year of Humility”, also prophesied by Prophet TB Joshua. The prophecy we recall came with conditions that are, “Turning to God in Repentance”. If the world had heeded the prophet and repented maybe by March 27, 2020, the rains would have washed the virus away. Everyone can listen to the prophecy over and again. It was conditional on our needed “changed attitude to the Living God”. Hence for the prophecy of humility to take its effect on a journey from Egypt to the Promised Land meant for about only 40 days may take 40 years, unless this generation is ready for God.

Our prayer points are many. We want God to keep talking to us and we don’t want our cathedrals filled with only empty pews. This generation can best be described as “Eye-service-Generation”, nearly everyone in it. Most of the popular pastors and church leaders are busy giving motivational speeches and entertaining the crowds like the days of Jeremiah. The humility regime, prophesied by TB Joshua, is going to start in the Church and amongst the Christians, in a long process. The world is already on its platform, un-repented, whilst the church is in disarray and disunity. Hence we pray for the move of the Holy Spirit for God’s quick intervention in the affairs of men.
