The entire State of Israel is called “the Holy Land” probably because of many prophets that God raised from that Land, because of God’s Promise to Abraham through to David, to Jesus of Nazareth, or the tombs of many prophets adorning the State. We think the State of Israel should be called the Holy Land because of people walking in the footsteps of Jesus of Nazareth. Nevertheless, in June 2019, the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) met in Nazareth for an International Crusade that was led by its Bishop, Prophet TB Joshua. It is only men like Prophet TB Joshua that could have countered the different classes of opposition that erupted aiming to prevent the International Crusade from holding. It was a highly organized opposition that faced the crusade because of the person of TB Joshua, not just because he was coming from Nigeria or Africa. Openly they called Prophet TB Joshua, and the entire SCOAN team, many unprintable names. By now we had expected Christians or none Christians to have known Prophet TB Joshua or some of the numerous people working with SCOAN. The Nazareth event nevertheless unearthed the experience of our Lord and Saviour Jesus of Nazareth. We know that Jesus would have been provoked beyond measure before He spoke to those who were wrong, but thought that they were right, when He said to them, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous . . . Serpents, a brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell? Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, that on you may come all the righteous bloodshed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. . . (Matthew 23:29-37). On the contrary, Prophet TB Joshua was able to promote Jesus Christ of Nazareth, he promoted peace and love to the different peoples of the State of Israel and peoples of over 100 nationalities that went. It was glorious.
Jesus told His disciples in (John 1518-21) that “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you . . . If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake because they do not know Him who sent Me. Apostle Peter also said, “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified”, (1 Peter: 12-14).
Therefore, who are prophets of God of our days and how do we recognize them? It is too cheap and lazy labelling everyone as false. In Philippians Chapter 4 the Bible teaches us to “Beware of false teachers, false prophets, false bishops, etc.” This warning is cardinal to every people looking for the second coming of Jesus in an era where greedy and self-promotion rule. God’s Spirit specifically tells us that in later days there will be men who abandon the true faith and allow themselves to be spiritually seduced by teachings of the devil, teachings given by men who are hypocrites, whose consciences are as dead as seared flesh. Of course, anyone will be doing its right duty as Christ’s minister if they remind their church members of these things (false teaching), and also prove themselves as ministers who owe their strength to the truth of the faith in Christ Jesus, living by His Spirit and His Word only. Every Christian should take time and trouble to keep self spiritually fit, and especially avoiding ideas, philosophies, and teachings contrary to Jesus and His teaching. Jesus said in (Matthew 16) that, “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns or figs of thistles?” By their love, we shall know them. Prophet TB Joshua said repeatedly that whatever we do in secret will reflect in the open and determining how much we can achieve in the name of Jesus. Jesus said His Words are “Spirit and Life”. This Word of Jesus is close to His Prophets, even in their mouths, in their hearts, that is the Word of faith which they preach every day, (Romans 10:8). This Word spoken to us by Jesus makes us and His prophets clean (John 15:3). Motivational speakers may draw large crowds because they speak sweet words. Even if they are incantations such words would not produce godly outcomes at the end.
This generation is most likely passing through the said last days, the very perilous times Apostle Paul was telling Timothy (2 Timothy 3:1-7). Whilst every Christian should be on the watch for “Jesus’ Coming” because our Lord is coming, it should be pointed out that Jesus loves His Church and therefore will not deny us of His true Godly Teachers, Prophets, Bishops, Church Workers, and the Holy Spirit for the propagation of complete sound doctrine for our salvation. However, amongst these may also be the false ones. The parable of the “Wheat and the Tares” can be found in (Matthew 13:2-30). Jesus said, “But when men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way”, (Matthew 13:25). Therefore every congregation is likely to be infected by these false teachings, false prophecies, false claims and people falsely accusing others but never able to correct themselves. Their zeal, driven by jealousy, greed and ignorance, is of the flesh and not from the Spirit of God. Emmanuel
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose” (Philippians 2:13)
God never created failure. God never created pain.
God never created fear.
Are you ready to be the person God created you to be? At times, our fear, our worries, our troubles seem to paralyse us but Jesus is more than able to release us from them all. Jesus is ready to pick you up and put you back on your feet. He is ready because He wants you to be the person He created you to be. Are you ready?
It is when we throw up our hands to the Lord that His hands have room to work. Ask yourself, “Do God’s hands have room to work in my life?” Remember, Christianity is not a religion but a relationship. How much time do you spend getting your heart in tune for prayer? How much time do you spend meditating on God’s Word? If you want your personality to be taken over by Jesus, if you want to be the person God created you to be, be conscious of Christ’s presence in everything you do because in Him we live, move and have our being.
God sometimes uses foolish things to confound the wise. For example, an unpleasant situation can serve to keep us for a new level in life. If Joseph had not been in the prison, he would not have met the link that saw him to the throne (Genesis 41:9-39). To the wise, imprisonment is a foolish thing but God used it to accomplish His purpose in the life of Joseph in particular, and the nation of Israel in general. If Hannah had had a baby earlier, she may not have had any reason to stay close to God. The Bible says, she was a woman of prayer (1 Samuel 1:1-17). If the circumstances surrounding the birth of Moses were normal, he may not have had a cause to go to Egypt where he finally became a blessing to his nation, Israel. He would have stayed and grown up with his biological parents and that would have changed the course of history (Exodus 2:1-10).
If Daniel had not been thrown into the lion’s den, he would not have had the opportunity to prove his God; his God would not have been known (Daniel 6:25-27). If Meshach, Shadrach and Abed-Nego had not encountered the great trial in the blazing furnace, their God would not have been a state God (Daniel 3:28-29). If Peter had had the desired catch of fish at the seaside, he may not have encountered Jesus – the Redeemer. His disappointment at the seaside served to move him to a higher level in life – ‘A fisher of men’ (Luke 5:1-11).
What the eye could not see in all these examples was the unseen hand, the divine driver of our fortunes. There is God’s appointed time for everything under the sun – a time to be happy, a time to be sad, a time to grow and a time to die (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). Take note, there is an unseen hand, an unseen plan of God in the affairs of men. When something happens, whether positive or negative, it would be too soon to despair, complain or jubilate without finding out what God says about it because there is an unseen hand in everything that happens under the sun.
The problem of believing is made simple when we know that it is acting on what God has spoken. The wise man is the doer of the Word. The other hears but does not act upon it. He is a sense knowledge hearer; he is a mental assenter. He responds to reason instead of the Word. If he has faith in anything, it is in man, what man has done, science, works and organisation. We may know the Word. We may be familiar with the original Greek or Hebrew. We may know the history of the Word but that is all wasted energy if we do not live the Word and practise it. If we do not live the Word and practise it, we cannot bring Jesus on the scene.
Prayer is a reality. We are not talking into the air. Here, the name Jesus is always honoured. What a grave danger of deluding ourselves. What a danger if there is no corresponding action! If we say in the name of Jesus without corresponding action, it oftentimes leads to destruction. It is the doer of the Word, the man who practises it, lives it, walks in it, that builds it into his own life. It is the doer of the Word that receives things from God. Idle words may entertain men but they do not reach God.
Ephesians 3:20 – “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Note the word, “do” in this text. We are doers of the Word, but you say, “How can I do it?” It is going to be according to the ability of God that is at work within us. As we begin to do the Word, He begins to do in us and through us (1 John 4:4).
Faith is not a feeling. Feelings are influenced by what we see, hear, read and by what our circumstances look like. Thomas would not believe unless he could see; he would not believe unless he could touch where Jesus was nailed and cut by His side (John 20:25). He relied on what he could see and touch, not on what God had to say.
We have many Thomas-Christians today, that is, those who believe in only what they can feel, see, hear or touch. If we base our judgment on what we see only, it means we have not looked deep enough. If we base our judgment on what is seen only, we are bound to give wrong judgment. In the same way, when we are looking for a man of faith, or a genuine believer, we are tempted to look only at those outward qualities, such as:
Speaking skills – ability to inspire people, ability to carry people along, ability to motivate an audience.
Friendliness – the power to win people’s hearts.
No mention would be made of character or inner being because man’s judgment is limited. Such was the case of Thomas and those Christians in his camp today. But Jesus said to Thomas, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:29). This statement was made not to Christians by faith but to Christians by feelings.
We cannot understand God by feelings. We can only understand Him by what the Word says about Him. Thomas was so much overwhelmed by his feelings that he neglected what the Scripture had said about Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. God is everything the Word says He is so we need to get familiar with Him through the Word. Too many people try to get acquainted with God through their feelings. When they feel good, they think God has heard their prayers. When they don’t feel particularly good – I mean, when they feel God is unkind or unfair to them, they begin to rebel or murmur against God. They feel that God no longer answers their prayer; their faith is thus based on feelings.

QUESTION: My elderly mum and dad have started wearing their face masks permanently because of fear of contracting COVID-19 and only removing them when they want to eat because they need to use their mouth to eat. I am concerned this can be dangerous. How can I advise them?
ANSWER: Following global health guidelines during this period of COVID-19, the government is insisting on the use of face masks in public places – along with social distancing and handwashing. Face masks can be a very good thing but they can also be dangerous when they are not used properly or when they are not made with the proper material.
The government has asked you to wear face masks when you are in public places, in the midst of people, on the streets, in vehicles when you are not alone. The government is doing this to help you. They are not asking you to wear it 24 hours a day. There should be a time at home when you remove it. But some people are wearing their face masks for long periods of time. Breathing the same air in and out or not getting enough air while breathing – all of this can affect your health, cause headaches, fatigue and worsen existing health challenges.
So let us be careful of the amount of time we wear the face mask and also of the kind of material our face masks are made out of. For many, the chemicals used to make such material can be dangerous to inhale. NOTE: The face mask is your personal mask. It should be clean and made of proper material. This requires your discretion, viewers.
Right now, let us pray. Whatever is affecting your discretion – reason well, in the name of Jesus Christ! Reason according to God’s direction, in the name of Jesus Christ! Reason in line with God, in Jesus’ name! Viewers, sometimes hardship can influence our reasoning. Sometimes joblessness can influence our reasoning. Sometimes fear can influence our reasoning. Sometimes pressure can influence our reasoning. Right now, begin to reason well, in the name of Jesus! Begin to reason in line with God, in the name of Jesus! Begin to do the right thing, in Jesus’ name! Do the right thing, in Jesus’ name! In Jesus’ name we pray!
We would like to use this time to salute our governor of Lagos State, Governor Sanwo-Olu. Indeed, he’s one of a kind. If you look at his activity at this critical time, it can be compared to the New York governor who is always on the national news to update the general public and to educate them. Our governor wants to see his people and he wants to see them living well. We pray God will increase his capacity to do more, in Jesus’ name!

Regular worshipers at the Synagogue, Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Lagos, Nigeria have come to the understanding that they have “A Sanctuary” that is their “Arena of Liberty”. We hope and pray to return to normal worship therein soonest. That is a place where people find refuge, protection, healing, deliverance and justice. They make confessions and they are immune from arrest. Whether the depth of their freedom is completely clear to those making this claim is one thing, but once they arrive SCOAN they often understand that they experience freedom from evil spiritual attacks. They enjoy peace of mind and a great level of security from fear or anxiety.
This may be why several people across the globe, watching Emmanuel.tv, ask Prophet TB Joshua if a Christian can even be sick let alone be attacked by a coronavirus. Remember in Matthew 4:6 Satan asked Jesus to throw Himself down to prove that He is the Son of God. At the crucifixion, the robber on the left (representing the spirit of Satan) similarly asked Jesus to prove Himself as the Son of God by saving Himself and two robbers. When Christians think like this they must be careful not to assume that they have arrived in heaven where there’d be no sickness. Instead, we should come to Jesus like the penitent thief on the “Right”, recognising Jesus, pleading for Jesus’ mercy and seeking refuge. A Christian can’t be self-righteous because we are all saved by grace. In Proverbs 18:10 we read that “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it and is safe.” Hence, at SCOAN’s Arena of Liberty, the strength of the building and its walls are not the measuring parameters of level security but the name of the Lord Jesus and His presence therein.
Prophet TB Joshua’s teachings and conducts are excellently profoundly accurate, even when they look simple. It is delusion and false teaching that if you follow Jesus everything will be trouble-free and without care, without sickness. Jesus is our rock and fortress in desperate times. SCOAN is resting on the word of Jesus which says, “Come all who are weary and heavy-laden and I (Jesus) will give you rest”. All who seek Jesus’ shelter, and cling to His to everlasting promises of truth and unconditional love that never runs dry, find safety and peace.
This isn’t to underestimate the immeasurable protection we enjoy under the name of Jesus anywhere we are. For example, Taipei 101 is considered one of the safest and strongest buildings in this modern era. The tower is designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes. It is a cultural icon of technology in Taiwan. But even with all of these features, it pales in comparison to the strength and security that’s found in the one who abides in the Lord Jesus and His precepts. When the trials of life come like a tidal wave to consume us we can take refuge in Jesus. His strength is made perfect in our moment of weakness. He does not cause the sickness or the storms but He can use them to shape our resolve in His ability to provide whatever is needed to overcome them. Jesus is our Saviour and our Lord in all our situations, a very present help in our troubled times. Emmanuel!!!
Our situations are tests to mature us. As a Christian, what situations are you going through? Don’t let them wear you down! They are to mature you. Don’t allow any situation to control, mislead or overwhelm you. Stay and cope with hard and good moments. Remember, in times of merriment, prosperity and success, even the wicked man will seem kind and generous but immediately the heat of trials and tribulations come, his wicked behavior surfaces. Sin easily hides where there is no heat of trials and afflictions, just as impurities hide in gold, until it goes through the process of the furnace.
No matter how much we master the Scriptures, without true obedience to what we read, we still wear spiritual diapers. Christians grow in character through obeying the Word of God in the midst of circumstances, e.g. hardship, persecution, trials, tribulations and temptations. Therefore, Christians should see situations such as these as God’s way to strengthen their faith, character and resolve to serve Him.
QUESTION– I was watching international news and saw US President Donald Trump threaten to cut off ties with China. Prophet TB Joshua, what would happen if America truly cuts ties with China?
ANSWER:“America’s concentration is on big things while China concentrates on small things, e.g. manufacturing and agricultural goods – what developing nations need. Remember, 70-80% of the world are developing nations. What they need to grow, to live and to improve is what China is concentrating on. I think America should learn this lesson. This is what they should turn to.
China is using all these little things to get money from developing nations – and that is making them the richest in the world. It is trade by barter. It has made developing nations to see China as their hope. For example, a product in America may cost 500 and last long, because it is durable. The same product in China may cost 100 but not last long. However, developing nations will still choose China’s products because such products are within their reach. That makes many nations to become debtors to China – even America.”
